Chevrolet Corvette Review (2019-2020): Comparing the Corvette C7 & C8 | Prices, Impressions & More

Per their article and video description of the C7 vs C8 Corvette review.

The Chevrolet Corvette has been an American sports car icon for over half a century. Historically the Corvette has always been one of the more affordable and usable sports cars on the road, and that appeal has helped make it one of the most popular performance cars in the world. If you’ve always dreamed of cruising down the highway in your very own Vette but worried it would break your bank account, the experts at Edmunds are here to help. Travis Langness and Elana Scherr take a closer look at two of the most recent Corvette variants to help you decide which one fits best in your budget and lifestyle. The two Corvettes reviewed in this video are the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Even though these two Corvettes are only a year apart, the differences are significant. Redesigned for 2020, the Corvette Stingray (often referred to as the Corvette C8) has a completely different look and feel from the 2019 Corvette Z06 (known as the C7). But the biggest difference between these two sports cars is the engine. While the 2019 Corvette followed the classic under-the-hood front-engine layout, Chevrolet decided it needed to move to a mid-engine layout to enhance the car’s performance for 2020 and beyond. The new engine location — now behind the cabin — enhances the 2020 Corvette’s performance but does limit the rear visibility. Shoppers looking for high-performance sports cars have been flocking to the Chevy Corvette for decades. It’s an American automotive institution that has aged like fine wine. Which Corvette is the right choice for you? We’ll help you answer that question and more in our review of the 2019 and 2020 Chevrolet Corvette.

Is THIS the C8 Corvette ZR1?

Recently in the WhichCar, Australia Wheels February 2021 magazine there was a story about the new C8 Corvette ZR1 that is planned to come out in 2024 if it follows the previous model years in the past with the C6, c7 ect…

In this story they get word on the Chevrolet C8 Corvette ZR1 from their contact in the US, former Wheels editor Angus MacKenzie. It’s a pretty extensive write up and they talk about how the C8 Corvette ZR1 will have a LT7 Twin Turbo engine with possibly the E-Ray C8 front hybrid motor assist (similar to an Acura NSX).

Also, they mention how the C8 Corvette ZR1 possibly won’t be the fastest C8 Corvette like it was generations in the past signaling that Chevrolet and General Motors might build a C8 Corvette Zora version with over 1000 HP (horsepower), AWD and again hybrid assist electric engines.

We will keep the post updated to bookmark this page for the latest C8 Corvette ZR1 News we find over the next few years.

We also have found more C8 Corvette ZR1 New on YouTube from HorsePower Obsessed who goes over the article in detail and Brink of Speed later came out with a video covering the magazine story as well after seeing it on the C8 Corvette forums.

Twin Turbo C8 Corvette new HP World Record! (Over 1000HP)

As we shared back in November of 2020 FuelTech was building a Twin Turbo C8 Corvette.

Today they released an update on their shop car C8 Corvette Twin Turbo that is now over 1000 horsepower and they are using their own ECU to piggy back the Chevy ECU.

Also, they say they are limited by about 3lbs of boost otherwise the C8 Corvette will need a clutch upgrade like the Cicio Performance Twin Turbo C8 set up that uses Dodson clutches.

They also said they were inspired by Late Model Racecraft with adding the Twin Turbo kit on top of the engine.

Borla Provides an Update on their Corvette C8 Exhaust

We first posted about the Borla C8 Corvette Exhaust almost a year ago.

Today, Borla  shared this video on why it took so long for them to make a cat back exhaust for the C8 Corvette and what the difference is with their system vs. other C8 catback exhausts.

They were looking for a more exotic car sound and they wanted to make sure the NPP valves with the different touring, sport, and track modes were used properly with the AFM valves. They have intercooled exhaust tips and wanted to make C8 Corvette owners didn’t have to worry about the heat produced from the cat back exhaust.
