Chevrolet just sent out an update email on the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 and added a new video to their Corvette Academy.

The email mentioned the following about the new C8 Corvette Z06

2023 Corvette Z06 C8 Revs (SO LOUD!)

In this video Drive 615 went to the NCM Bash 2022 and captured the new C8 Corvette Z06s with some revs of the new flat plane crank engine.

Went up to Bowling Green Kentucky to the National Corvette Museum for the Michelin 2022 NCM Bash. I drove my 2015 C7 Z06 up there and had a blast. The C8 Z06 LT6 engine produces 670 hp at 8,400 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque at at 6,300 rpm. It also comes equipped with double overhead cams, dry-sump lubrication, and a flat-plane crankshaft. It revs to 8,600 RPM.

This looks like the Torch Red C8 Corvette Z06 that was at The Stradman’s house for promotion along with the dealer tour at Ciocca Corvette we covered as well.

In another recent video he mentioned his Chevy Dealer wouldn’t sell him the New C8 Z06 unless he paid an additional $50,000 to charity even though they originally said they would sell it for MSRP.

Torch Red C8 Corvette Z06

This torch red C8 Corvette Z07 has the Z07 package and is a 3LZ interior option with all of the carbon fiber options. Along with the 5.5 Flat plane crank engine that is the most powerful V8 naturally aspirated 670HP V8 in the world. The C8 Z06 does 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds.

The C8 Z06 is a lot wider than the base model C8 Corvette stingray and this one has the painted carbon fiber wheels vs. the carbon fiber wheels with the exposed weave. You can tell because of the white wheel barrels which is used on carbon fiber wheels.

I give you an up close and personal look at the brand new 2023 C8 Corvette Z06. This beast won’t start production until July of this year but we got a sneak peak at this beast and it is quite the machine. What do you think of the new Z06?

2023 Chevy Corvette Z06: Corvette Academy – Zora’s Legacy | Chevrolet

In this video by RacerX on YouTube he talks about not taking his delivery of his C8 Corvette to be on the list for the C8 Corvette Z06.

During this 2 1/2 year wait he has just learned the dealer that was selling his C8 Corvette for MSRP is not telling him he has to pay an extra $50,000 for the C8 Corvette Z06 that will go to Charity?!

This is a first we have heard a Chevy dealer use this approach with the mark up of a C8 Corvette or C8 Corvette Z06. We have heard and there is video proof of dealers like Van Chevrolet in Scottsdale, AZ charging $85,000 mark ups and asking for $10,000 deposits for the C8 Corvette Z06. That’s a lot of money to let someone hold especially since the production date is now going to be late summer and more like August 2022 which is 10 months since the C8 Z06 unveil date of October 2021.

C8 Z06 $50,000 Mark Up for Charity?

In this video by Brink of Speed he shares more inside info about the C8 Corvette Z06 Production start date from someone that is supplying parts for the new 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 supposedly.

In the last video and this blog post he mentioned his contact shared that it is true that production of the C8 Corvette Z06 will not start until “Late Summer” as Chevrolet has been saying even in a recent press release in the Chevrolet Media center.

C8 Z06 Corvette Production Date in August 2022

In this video he gives Brink of Speed an exact date of August 22nd, 2022 and they will be targeting 900 C8 Corvettes a week  in production until August 2022. And then they will take the base model C8 Corvette production to 600 a week with 300 a week of the C8 Corvette Z06 variant as a breakdown of that 900 a week target goal. In four months that would mean by December 2022 possibly 6,000 C8 Corvette Z06 will be produced.

It was previously thought that the C8 Z06 production start date would be May 9th with the base 2023 C8 Corvette stingray models but again there are supply chain issues with magnetic ride control and chips.

This again coincides with another recent YouTuber that had replies back from the official Corvette Instagram and direct messages as well as “later summer” for pricing and production of the C8 Corvette Z06.

In this hour long video by Brink of Speed he covers the latest C8 Z06 news including production start dates, Capture Test Fleet vehicle, and the new Carbon Fiber Wheel dilemma.

Brink of Speed says his is inside info but not official from General Motors. he has mentioned this contact in past videos and supposedly he doesn’t work for GM but works for a supplier of the C8 Corvette Z06 parts.

The official production date for the C8 Corvette Stingray is May 9th and people thought the C8 Corvette Z06 would start then as well.

The bad news is this supplier is saying the C8 Z06 production will not start until August of 2022 now. This actually coincides with another YouTuber we covered that had direct messages and replies from the official Corvette page on Instagram saying “late summer”, which official “Late summer” is September which is the end of Summer ending September 22nd, 2022.

The computer chip shortages as well as supply chain issues and other part shortages are really effecting the C8 Corvette Z06 launch just like it has with other Manufacturers. This is where its better sometimes to just go with what is available from the OEM and then getting aftermarket parts for the C8 Corvette like carbon fiber that might be on constraint. Magnetic Ride is one of the options that are on constraint currently but every C8 Z06 needs that and there isn’t an aftermarket option.

C8 Corvette Z06 Production Start Date

In this video by the Car Review Guys he calls Van Chevrolet in Scottsdale, Arizona which is one of the top Corvette sales dealers in the country to see how to get on their C8 Corvette Z06 list.

In the call, the sale rep says you need to put $10k down, it’s going to be marked up $85,000 and there are about 30 people on their list.

This is lower than the last time The Car Review Guys reached out and it was a $20,000 deposit and a $100,000 mark up of the C8 Corvette Z06.

Chevrolet at the time of this post (April 2022) still hasn’t released pricing for the C8 Z06 but they confirmed on the phone call that is it comes out at $100k they would charge $85,000 more on top of that in the form of a mark up on the car. Another Arizona dealer Gateway Chevrolet has been known to mark up C8 Corvettes just like Van Chevy in Scottsdale. We actually posted another video we found on YouTube where Gateway Chevrolet was marking up a C8 Corvette $50,000.

In this video by Supercar Ranch on YouTube he discusses his Instagram reply and private direct message reply he received from the official Corvette Instagram account.

They have been advised to tell people we will not see the Corvette C8 Z06 until Late Summer and pricing closer to sale. Summer official starts June 21st and ends September 22nd. So if we are looking at late summer its more likely to be in August 2022 or September 2022 that we will see the new C8 Corvette Z06 produced with pricing available.

Also, they were open to people sharing what dealers are marking up the C8 Corvette Z06 however they also said the dealers are independently owned and can make their own decisions and have the ability to do so.
