Emelia Hartford Twin Turbo C8 Corvette Engine Problem… Again

For awhile we were posting updates on the Twin Turbo C8 Corvette Emelia Hartford built and was the first to get to the low 9 second 1/4 mile time. But then she stopped using her Twin Turbo C8 Corvette for content.

Also, along the way when she was uploading videos of her C8 Corvette the engine had to be repaired and the transmission had to have the DCT upgraded many times with Dodson clutches.

Each time she would attempt to break her record there was a tuning issue when running a piggy back set up since the C8 Corvette still has an encrypted ECU and you can’t tune them. Most say its because GM and Chevrolet don’t want to screw a tune with an over the air update or so people won’t be discouraged from buying their new C8 Z06 or C8 Corvette ZR1 once they start building them in a few years and tune them to higher horsepower than they will be.

Emelia Hartford mentioned she has been doing a lot of testing with a new intercooler, DI injectors, and they rerouted PCP lines as well as keep testing on the Dyno with a new control module to try to trick the car to handle the boost.

In the meantime, FuelTech has secured the world record for the fastest C8 Corvette in the world currently achieving an 8.97 at 160.92 MPH in the quarter mile.

Sounds like Emelia Hartford will be uploading more C8 Corvette content very soon once she gets her Twin Turbo C8 Corvette dialed in again.

In this latest Emelia Hartford C8 Corvette video she blows her engine trying to beat her quarter mile record and try to get low 9s (9.36) or 8 second quarter mile passes. As you can see by her videos and her commentary its not that easy with the base model stingray with a Twin Turbo kit and clutch issues.
