Before he can deliver a new C8 Corvette to a customer that was going to fly in after 7 miles something was wrong with the engine they were trying to fix with the guidance of Corvette Engineers at GM.
This backed up any delivery or PDI or Pre Delivery Inspections they do on new C8 Corvettes the come in from Bowling Green, KY before they are given to the customers.
