In this video by Rick Corvette Conti in Ohio he goes over the recent 2023 C8 Corvette order constraints and shows his frustrations with this car. There is so much demand and with chip shortage and magnetic ride control supply issues the production still can’t keep up.
Chevy dealers like the one Rick use to work at are use to corvettes on the lot with mark downs like the C7s started getting discounted up to the year prior to the C8 Corvette unveil. Now customers if they could would just order a C8 Corvette right through GM or Chevrolet.com as people do on Tesla.com and with ordering a Tesla.

Rick mentioned General Motors says ordering for the C8 Corvette Z06 is going to be “late spring” and tentative which means more like late summer early Fall unless these supply chain issues magically resolve themselves quicker which they haven’t in the last two years.

You can tell in Rick’s video that there really is no point to a Chevy sales person when they have no cars to sell. If Chevrolet.com opened up ordering directly like Tesla.com they would eliminate the need to ask sales people at these franchise dealers what’s happening with their cars and orders. Most dealers make their profit on the service centers so maybe Franchise dealers will become just that eventually.
