Florida rapper Rod Wave totaled his new Corvette, but he is grateful that he didn’t go with it.

Every day above ground is a good day, and rapper Rod Wave has a newfound appreciation for that sentiment after flying very close to the sun. Rod Wave, who is most popularly known for his single “Heart On Ice,” which went viral on YouTube after its release in May 2019, was the proud owner of a Chevrolet Corvette that is now wrecked.

Details surrounding the incident are scarce but the rapper did take to social media to share a piece of the news, thankful for life, of course. Alongside a photo of the wreckage that is the white sports car, Rod Wave wrote, “Hurt me to my heart the way our love ended,” he said. “Never know what you got till it’s gone it’s cool doe just gone get me badder b*tch still here doe thank god.”

Do you also have a love story with your car that you’d like to share?

Contact us at http://instagram.com/applewoodautogroup In today’s video, we had the chance of taking a ride with Norman’s unique Corvette C8.

After owning the car for 4 months, he is proud to admit falling in love more and more with the car every day. In his own words, “I didn’t pick this car because of its name, speed or price. I picked it because it just excited me”.

Driving the new mid-engine Corvette C8 around the streets of Vancouver’s Lower Mainland.

About the new Mid-engine Corvette C8, just recently released in Canada: Chevrolet fulfills the long-term promise of the iconic Corvette with the introduction of the new Stingray, the brand’s first-ever production mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette.

The sum of everything that came before it, the new Stingray is re-imagined to bring customers new levels of performance, technology, craftsmanship and luxury.

From front- to mid-engine, in under three seconds “Corvette has always represented the pinnacle of innovation and boundary-pushing at GM.

The traditional front-engine vehicle reached its limits of performance, necessitating the new layout,” said GM President Mark Reuss. “In terms of comfort and fun, it still looks and feels like a Corvette, but drives better than any vehicle in Corvette history. Customers are going to be thrilled with our focus on details and performance across the board.”

The new mid-engine layout gives the new Stingray: Better weight distribution, with the rear weight bias enhancing performance in a straight line and on the track. Better responsiveness and sense of control due to driver positioning closer to the front axle, almost on top of the front wheels.

The fastest 0-100 km/h time of any entry Corvette ever – 2.7 seconds when equipped with Z51 package. A race car-like view of the road due to lower positioning of the hood, instrument panel and steering wheel. Excellent forward sight-lines throughout the vehicle for both driver and passenger. An enhancement of Corvette’s traditional utility strengths, with dual trunks for a total of 357 liters (12.6 cubic feet) of cargo volume, ideal for luggage or two sets of golf clubs.

Design inspired by racing and aeronautics

The new Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray’s exterior has a bold, futuristic expression with mid-engine exotic proportions, but it is still unmistakably Corvette. It’s lean and muscular, with an athletic sculptural shape conveying a sense of motion and power from every angle. “

As America’s most iconic performance nameplate, redesigning the Corvette Stingray from the ground up presented the team a historic opportunity, something Chevrolet designers have desired for over 60 years,” said Mike Simcoe, vice president of Global Design, General Motors. “It is now the best of America, a new arrival in the mid-engine sports car class. We know Corvette can stand tall with the best the world has to offer.”

A supercar level of craftsmanship, premium materials and attention to detail were critical in designing every component of the Stingray. The new location of the engine is truly the focal point for the car’s design. It’s the heart of this next generation Corvette and it sits like a jewel in a showcase, visible through the large rear hatch window. The added attention to detail optimized the appearance of every wire, tube, bolt and fastener, similar to those found in modern track and all-road motorcycle design.

C8 Corvette with Soul Sport Cats and ETS Exhaust!

Check out the Revs and ride along in this C8 Corvette that has ETS Extreme Turbo Systems Exhaust and Soul Performance Sport Cats.

The reason he couldn’t launch it is because he wasn’t holding the brake down hard enough. Once you do then it will rev to 3,500 RPMs and launch correctly. Here’s more information and videos on how to use launch control in the C8 Corvette.

2020 C8 Corvette FIRST Oil Change & Transmission Service REQUIRED but NOT done

Check out this video by YouTuber HorsePower Obsessed where he gets his first oil change done on his C8 Corvette which is free after 8200 miles *usually due at 7,500 miles. He mentioned the transmission filter should be replaced too but he thought that is suppose to be free or a credit for $205.00 to replace that.

He also shows C8 Corvette owners why they should have an oil catch can.

Corvette Museum Releases 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Build Stats

Per the Corvette Museum the most popular build was the coupe and the most popular color of the C8 Corvette was Torch Red. That makes a lot of sense since that was the color of the C8 Corvette Unveil car in July 2019.

Also, although Rapid Blue is a favorite color of most C8 Corvette owners and in the C8 Corvette Forums dealers told people if they ordered a Rapid Blue C8 Corvette it could delay the order even before Covid or UAW strike hit and already delayed everything.

Here are the C8 Corvette build stats per Corvette Museum

Though production of the 2020 Corvette is expected to continue through early December, with order changes no longer being allowed the team at GM was able to go ahead and release the final stats.

Coupe was the most popular of the two models available with 82.4% of the 20,368 total 2020s produced. As for color line up, Torch Red was the most popular for 2020 with 25% of the cars in that hue. The complete final color line up is as follows:

  • Torch Red (25%)
  • Arctic White (15%)
  • Black (11.7%)
  • Sebring Orange (6.8%)
  • Elkhart Lake Blue (6.7%)
  • Rapid Blue (6%)
  • Ceramic Matrix Gray (5.97%)
  • Blade Silver (5.55%)
  • Shadow Gray (5.45%)
  • Long Beach Red (5.25%)
  • Accelerate Yellow (3.38%)
  • Zeus Bronze (2.69%)

Carbon Flash Badges were the most popular with 91.6% of the cars. The Z51 package was selected on 76%. 3LT was the most popular package with 46.4%. Front Lift was opted for on 58.4% of the cars while performance exhaust (NPP) is on 89.2%. The GT2 seats were the most popular pick with 61.6%. Painted Carbon Flash Open Spoke Wheels were the most popular with 41.7%, closely followed by the Bright Silver Open Spoke with 36.9%. The National Corvette Museum will have delivered 943 Corvettes for the 2020 model year.
