C8 Corvette FULL Fabspeed Motorsport Exhaust, Headers, and Sport Cats

As we covered many times before since Fabspeed Motorsport was one of the first companies to develop and launch a cat back exhaust for the C8 Corvette as well as sport cats they have now launched a full system including Headers.

That’s right you can order a full Fabspeed C8 Corvette Exhaust from the headers back.

Here is a video they just launched that shows the sound difference although video really hard to capture the true sound of the Fabspeed Headers, Sport Cats, and cat back exhaust for the Corvette C8.

Here’s What CARMAX Offered for my 25,000 Mile C8 Corvette

Check out this video from Speed Phenom where he takes is track driven 25,000 mile 2LT C8 Corvette to Carmax and see what he is offered.

It’s actually pretty insane after being low balled by come Chevy Dealers in the 60-70k range because of the high mileage. Does Carmax go even lower?

He has a 2022 C8R Edition C8 Corvette coming and already had a 600LT Mclaren as well so its time for him to sell his C8 Corvette he received at the Corvette Museum and drove across the country to California.

We actually posted a Carmax C8 Corvette offer back in October 2020 so you can see the difference almost a year later the two offers. The other one was a 1LT C8 Corvette.

C8 Corvette Update with Harlan Charles and the Corvette Team

In this video by Harlan Charles and the C8 Corvette team he covers all of the production stats, pricing, options and more about the C8 Corvette at the Corvette Museum.

Harlan Charles is the Corvette Product Marketing Manager and towards the end he takes questions from the audience and gives as much information as possible accept for the new C8 Z06 of course.

He even mentions they don’t even know a location they will use for the C8 Z06 release date information on October 26th, 2021.

He covers this and MORE about the C8 Corvette

  • Awards they received for the C8 Corvette
  • Best Resale Value
  • First ever Right Hand Drive
  • The difference between the Corvette C1 in 1981 to now and the 2020 C8 Corvette
  • Breakdown of the most popular options of the C8 Corvette and combinations of options and colors

What Does the Corvette C8R Edition Really Cost? (IS IT Worth it?)

Check out this video from Brink of Speed as he uses the new 2022 Corvette builder as prices just went live to build the new C0rvette C8R edition.

He uses the Corvette C8R edition as an example to show you what it really costs by adding a C8R graphics package with a plaque. The C8R Edition doesn’t change the engine, DCT or any performance elements to the car.

Just adding the Corvette C8R edition adds $12,940 more to the base model 2022 C8 Corvette stingray. It adds the Z51 package and a lot of the 3LT options along with black trident spoke wheels.

Other than the Jake logo, plaque, and stickers along with the new Hypersonic gray color everything else is the same as the 2020 and 2021 C8 Corvette models. The new Hypersonic grey color is included but if you want the accelerate yellow C8R Edition C8 Corvette its another $500.00

He also specs it based on what Chevrolet showed what they looked like at the Corvettes at Carlisle tent. It came to another $25,390 dollars (just for looks) in options to match what they did with the carbon fiber package as well.

If you built this yourself it would be probably a quarter of that $25k as Brink of Speed points out. The only difference is saying you have one of the 1000 they are building. It really does seem like a marketing gimmick and wouldn’t be a good idea if you already own a C8 Corvette. It’s similar to the Callaway C8 Corvette that had only appearance changes but no performance upgrades. It could be a cool option if you never owned a C8 Corvette before as your first C8 Corvette you purchase but it doesn’t seem like an overpriced marketing gimmick.

We have already covered using an aftermarket company like Racing Sport Concepts for carbon fiber parts for the C8 Corvette is a way better option to save money and have high quality carbon fiber parts.

Is the 2022 Corvette C8R Special Edition WORTH buying or WAIT for the C8 Z06?

The ALL NEW C8R Special Edition is here and Chevrolet wants to celebrate for 2022. This C8 is based on a 3LT Vette with the Z51 pkg. Under the engine cover is a 6.2L V8 pumping out 495HP & mated to an 8-speed DCT. On the outside there are two available colors, special graphics, and extra aero. On the inside you will find unique colors and touches. Is the 2022 Corvette C8R Special Edition WORTH buying or WAIT for the C8 Z06?

C8 Corvette Allocation Update for September 2021 (Dealer Perspective)

In this video from “I Sell Corvettes” Ron Shinault with Weber Chevrolet in Columbia, IL  covers his current C8 Corvette allocation and provides an update to his July 22nd 2022 C8 Corvette Allocation videos.

He was pleasantly surprised with 4 allocations and thinks this a great sign to come since he is a smaller dealer especially with corvette sales.

He also mentioned they will not make a list for the C8 Z06 because he doesn’t think they would be able to fulfill the orders within the first one or two years and doesn’t want to get peoples hopes up.

Lastly, he discusses he has a small list for the electric Corvette C8 the “E-Ray” that has been seen testing with the Acura NSX but again that car isn’t even announced and Chevy didn’t say they will be sharing any information about it at the C8 Z06 reveal at the end of October.

First Twin Turbo C8 Corvette Convertible Built by Peitz Performance

Check out this video from Alex Peitz of Peitz Performance who helped Emelia Hartford with her record breaking Twin Turbo C8 Corvette.

He has released a “Bravo” package which he shows on the First C8 Corvette Convertible to get a Twin Turbo set up.

He also created and just released a C8 Tuner to help with ECU adjustments including the mass air flow calibration.

Per Alex Peitz Twin Turbo C8 Convertible video description:

The research and development phase is finally over! We are proud to present the first and only twin-turbo convertible C8. This video focuses on the results after we have installed our base Bravo package not utilizing methanol or a boost controller.

C8 Z06 Unofficial Lap Time (MORE TESTING)

Check out this video by Carspotter Jeroen where the low wing C8 Z06 Corvette was timed running a 8:18 and the High Wing C8 Z06 Corvette ran a 7:12 unofficial lap time at the Nurburgring.

We first reported on the C8 Z06 at the Nurburgring back in early August but there continues to be a lot of testing leading up to the October 26th, 2021 reveal of the C8 Z06 and production information as well as specs and price.

There are dealers that have 900+ people on waiting lists already for the new 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 models and a lot of speculation that the C8 Z06 is already sold out and dealers have already confirmed C8 Z06 mark ups again as they did and continue to do with the base model C8 Corvette Stingray and Z51 package.

Racing Sport Concepts Launches New Carbon Fiber Front Lip

As we covered many times on our blog Racing Sport Concepts is one of the best options if you are considering adding carbon fiber parts to your C8 Corvette.

Not only can they save you money from ordering C8 carbon fiber parts from the factory OEM (5VM aero kit) directly as covered in this post. They also have been an innovator when it comes to unique carbon fiber styling.

For example, they were the first Duck Bill Rear Spoiler option for the C8 Corvette. Which was made popular on Gabe Florido’s C8 Corvette.

They also launched a carbon fiber front splitter that was unique and track tested for the C8 Corvette. And just released in September 2021 they have launched another front splitter option for the C8 Corvette called the STC or Street Track Corvette front splitter. They use ultra high-detail laser scanning process to map out the perfect OEM mounting locations and fit. This is their “stage 2” front splitter as it comes with large canards on each corner for better downforce and aero when tracking your C8 Corvette. The installation is easy as they use the factory front bumper screws just like they did with their stage 1 carbon fiber front splitter.

They have the experience working with Porsche and Lamborghini carbon fiber parts including the 580 and 610 Huracan and Lamborghini Aventador.

We noticed their instagram post today with the new front splitter highlighted on a customer’s car already.

C8 Corvette Production Numbers (VIDEO, Convertibles Sky Rocket)

Check out this video from Cars, Costs, and Technology where he covers the C8 Corvette production numbers from 2020 and 2021 so far and compares them to the C7 Corvette production numbers.

As you will see thanks to the chip shortage, UAW strike, and Covid the C8 Corvette production numbers are down vs. C7 Corvette typical production.

  • 2021 there were 26,216 C8 Corvettes produced
  • 2020 there were 20,368 C8 Corvettes produced

The first year of the C7 Corvette in 2014 there were 37,288 C7 Corvettes produced which is only 9,000 units less then both 2020 and 2021 C8 Corvette production combined.

Also, another thing you will see in the video is that C8 Corvette Convertible skyrocketed especially in the 2021 model production year.
