C8 Z06 MADNESS! Is it time for GM to Step in? (VIDEO)

In this video you can hear DadBodSzn610 on YouTube give his opinion of the new C8 Z06 Corvette Sales process and allocations to Chevy Dealers.

Normally, Chevrolet Dealers get allocation based on their sales numbers and he recently put two C8 Corvette Z06 deposits down at a Chevy dealer with the highest allocations of Corvettes but was pretty far down on their list when they started emailing the reservation numbers.

He ended up being in the 1,500s on the list so he decided to take his deposit back about a month later. Also, his wife took her deposit back once they said you can only have one deposit down at MSRP per household to make it fair for the rest of the people on the list that put their deposits down.

So far the list is over 4-5k people at this one car dealer that want the C8 Corvette Z06 as fast as possible and “first”. This Chevy dealer has the best chance and getting the most C8 Corvette Z06s because they normally sell the most and have the most allocations. The dealership was recently purchased and in tradition they didn’t open the list until the car was actually unveiled, set up their rules to get on the list and started taking deposits at the day and time mentioned allowing people from all over the world to wire transfer money or if local drive to their dealer or fly in and stand in line in person.

No one knows how many C8 Corvette Z06 cars that Chevrolet can produce each year going forward especially with current supply chain issues and in the past it was only about 25%-35% or so of the base Corvette models. And the C8 Corvette Z06 might be even lower since each engine is hand built by about 13 engine builders they mentioned at the time of the reveal.

Do think he is right in the video about General Motors changing things up with Chevy Dealer allocation or even taking a “Tesla.com” model where people can buy directly from the manufacturer?

Leave your comments below we know it’s a tough subject and everyone is hyped about getting a C8 Corvette including the C8 Z06 but it’s tough for car dealers too that earned allocations by their history of past sales.

How to Fix C8 Corvette Squeaky or Squealing Brakes (VIDEO)

In this video from Rick Corvette Conti with Coughlin Chevrolet of Pataskala discusses how to fix squeaky or squealing C8 Corvette brakes with his service corvette technician Chuck Metts.

Chuck mentions Chevrolet wants them to put a copper grease on the brake pads to stop them from chattering in the calipers. It’s Permatex Copper anti seize lubricant and to put a thick layer on the brake pads.

Another option is upgrading your brakes to Girodisc brake rotors and Carbotech Brake pads as we did after ordering the parts from Paragon Performance. We have a Z51 3LT C8 Corvette the J55 brakes are bigger so you have to take the brake calipers off.

There is a bulletin with Chevrolet not a recall that they will fix this issue as long as the C8 Corvette is still under warranty.

Rick Corvette Conti Jumping a C8 Corvette?

In this video from Rick Corvette Conti on YouTube he shares the latest C8 Corvette news and has a date set for his C8 Corvette “Evil Knievel ” type of stunt jump which is December 19th, 2021.

C8 Corvette Plant Slowdowns

Rick mentions a lot of his C8 Corvettes for customers are just sitting at the Bowling Green, KY plant for over month that he thought he should of received by now.

C8 Corvette Z06 Pricing

Rick also shares his thoughts on the C8 Corvette Z06 Pricing YouTube videos and confirms its all speculation as he speculates the pricing will come out in January or February 2022 from Chevrolet and General Motors officially.

Heated Steering Wheel

If you don’t get a heated steering wheel with any GM vehicle you get a $25.00 credit, 1 year free remote access plan, and they will retrofit your car when the part comes in since it’s been effected like many things with the supply chain and chip shortage.

Rick Corvette Conti C8 Corvette Jump

Rick Conti mentions he will be jumping his C8 Corvette Evil Knievel style with a full video production type video on December 19th, 2021. He will be sharing the video on his YouTube channel here and he has already completed the jump and has some slight injuries from that and also jumping over his car.

He mentions he messed up his C8 Corvette Convertible by jumping it but it is currently fixed already. It was a lot more damage then he expected and you will have to watch his YouTube channel Dec 19th to see the video of the C8 Corvette jump.

C8 CORVETTE JUMPS OVER ANOTHER C8

So here is the video of Rick Corvette Conti Jumping a C8 Corvette over another C8 Corvette. Real or Fake with good high production paid for editing? Leave your comment below.

He conveniently does the “jump” at night, in the rain, in a “private lot” that looks like a commercial building or school parking lot. You don’t see him land or go ramp to ramp and supposedly lands on asphalt but runs out of the car ok and the car flys down the concrete at 70MPH.

Unlike StreetSpeed717 where you clearly see him jump his lambo over his other lambo there is some fishy stuff going on here with Rick and looks more like a high production magic trick of the mind on some of his YouTube Commentors which also appear to fake? (a lot of comments from profiles with no pictures, videos on their page, about section blank ect..)

WHAT DID WE DO? EVEL KNIEVEL CORVETTE JUMP FOLLOW UP

Here is the follow up to the Rick Corvette Conti C8 Corvette jump that was fake and all for “entertainment” and “views”.  So if you enjoy fake car jump videos this one is for you! lol

Speed Phenom Selling C8.R Special Edition C8 Corvette for C8 Z06?

In this video, Speed Phenom on YouTube asks his viewers and audience if he should sell his C8 Corvette C8R Special Edition for the New C8 Z06.

In our mind this is a no brainer and being a YouTuber its a no brainer for him as well since he uses each car as content for his YouTube Channel.

We’re sure he already had this in mind when he flipped his C8 Corvette Stingray at Carmax for this “special edition” C8.R where they are only producing 1000 units.

Guaranteed the C8 Z06 with the flat plane crank engine will hold its value and still be more valuable than a special edition base model Z51 C8 Corvette with stickers regardless of only making 1000 units.

He admits he’s not a “car collector” and only 21 years old so it sounds like C8R special edition was for content and he will be getting a C8 Z06.

What do you think? Keep a “Special Edition” C8.R or get a C8 Corvette Z06?

2023 C8 Z06 Corvette Pricing (LEAKED VIDEO)

Check out this video from Brink of Speed on YouTube where he leaks the 2023 C8 Z06 Corvette pricing starting at $88,000.

He supposedly has a Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 build sheet with all the pricing including Carbon Fiber Wheels at $11,000 and the Z07 package adding another $9,500.

UPDATED – someone in the comments is saying they made this up. With the internet nowadays you never know what is true, false, made up. As we discussed in past C8 z06 posts its all pure speculation until Chevrolet or General Motors officially announces it.

c8 corvette comments

Also, if you want to go with the 3LZ option that’s another $11,950. You will see in this build its priced out to about $144,000 including $8k in Tax.

Some other interesting pricing shows the C8 Corvette Z06 Convertible starting at $95,500 or $106,995 in the 3LZ option before adding the Z07 package or any other carbon fiber add ons for the C8 Corvette Z06.

Interestingly enough this $88,000 starting price for the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 is in line with the “CONFIRMED” by two Chevy Dealers pricing of $87,000 that HorsePower Obsessed leaked as well which is about $1k off.

MacMulkin Shares Two New Possible Colors for the C8 Corvette Z06

In this video from Fred’s Full Throttle on YouTube has an “Insider Info, 2 Little Nuggets” section where he says he was told by MacMulkin Chevrolet they heard there are two new colors being considered for release for the 2023 C8 Corvettes.

Fred recently put his deposit down with MacMulkin in another recent video so maybe they mentioned it to him then.

And those two new C8 Corvette colors are the most wanted, talked about, and speculated colors as we have covered before Green and Purple.

Recently, someone spotted a new Carbon Flash Metallic color and Pearl White color in the display case at the LA Auto show.

What do you think? Will the Green and Purple finally be added to the mix?

Tesla Model S Plaid vs C8 Corvette Z51

Check out this video by Acceler8 on YouTube where they drag race a Tesla Model S Plaid vs the C8 Corvette.

So we have 1000 Horsepower AWD Tesla Plaid vs. 495 Horsepower Mid Engine Rear Wheel Drive C8 Corvette. We all know how this is going to start and end right?

The C8 Corvette gets gapped and even the new C8 Z06 that is 670 horsepower with a flat plane crank that is suppose to do 10.4 quarter mile to 10.6 in the quarter mile would get gapped.

Until the C8 Corvette comes out with an All Wheel Drive Hybrid or full electric with a closer horsepower rating and beating the Tesla Plaid on the weight it won’t come close.

2023 C8 Corvette Z06 Tires a Cheat Code?

In this recent video by Speed Phenom on YouTube he takes a look at the performance stats on the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 at the LA Auto Show.

He once again covers the 41lb weight reduction and Z07 aero package as well as the Cup 2 tires that help it perform in the low 10 second quarter mile range and around the track vs the Bugatti Chiron.

He recently interviewed the C8 Corvette engineers at the Petersen Museum on the reveal date and learned a lot more specs about the C8 Z06 like the fry weight being about 3450 pounds.

He also covers how normally a high revving natural aspirated flat plane engine wouldn’t have these type of performance numbers since its not supercharged or Twin Turbo.

How to Lower C8 Corvette (VIDEO)

Back in June of 2020 months after the C8 Corvettes started rolling out to customers we created this post on How to Lower the C8 Corvette as people started with the aftermarket mods.

One of the biggest issues cosmetically with the C8 Corvette is the big wheel gap and horrible stock wheel choices. The black trident wheel is probably the best option but again the offset isn’t as good as it could be and still a massive wheel gap that doesn’t look good for a mid engine sports car.

Since the wheels and wheel gap are an issue the most popular mods are getting aftermarket wheels for the C8 Corvette and lowering the C8 Corvette with exhausts, bolt ons, and wrapping their C8 Corvettes being very popular as well.

In this video most recent 2021 video by Paragon Performance and aftermarket marketplace for C8 Corvette mods explains every option depending on you having a base model C8 Corvette with no lift and no Z51 option to having the front lift and Z51 C8 Corvette stingray.

They sell front collars, suspension kits, and springs to lower your C8 Corvette. If you go to their site and order anything mention you found them on C8CorvetteBlog.com in the notes or when you call.
