The C8 Corvette might be the last Corvette that is the most power flat plane crank naturally aspirated engine before they start adding hybrid and electric versions of the C8 like the Eray, ZR1 or the Zora
After taking delivery of his Accelerate Yellow 2023 C8 Corvette z06 in November 2022 from Whitmoyer Chevrolet the Stradman has sold his C8 Corvette Z06 on Cars and Bids for $218,200.
The Winning bid came from “Climat” who says on Cars and Bids in the comments of the auction;
I have a small channel that I post my HPDE sessions on and this is my car for this season so it will be out there, I am an instructor for NCM, Porsche Club and 1010ths motorsport.
Cars and Bids
Cars and Bids is a car bidding website started by YouTuber Doug DeMuro where people can auction their cars to the highest bidder.
Buyers pay a 4.5% commission, capped at $4,500. Sellers list for free and receive 100% of the sale price.
Doug DeMuro brings the eyeballs from his Car Reviews YouTube channel and they offer a lot of customer support buying and selling cars.
Stradman C8 Z06 Warranty and Transmission Issue
So part of Chevrolet and General Motors new policy with the C8 Corvette Z06 is that if it is sold prior to they original owner owning it more than 6 months the warranty is voided.
As stated in the Cars and Bids auction for the C8 Z06 Stradman sold there he did include that disclaimer as well as made in an depth video of everything about the car including the C8 Z06 transmission pan gasket being fixed under warranty while he had it.
Responding to Allegations of Illegally Selling my Z06 Corvette.
In this video Marco with SteelAnkles on YouTube discusses his experience with his new C8 Z06 blown engine at 621 miles. As he states he did follow the break in period although he hasn’t had to do that with other cars he has owned.
You can see and hear in the video towards the end a valve or lifter seems to go bad. Also, in the video you can see he is a good sport about the situation since GM and his local Chevy dealer City Chevy in Charlotte, NC actually fixed it and put a new engine in the car in two weeks time.
He mentioned the tech told him there was another C8 Z06 Corvette that had an engine blown as well besides the one in California which was one of the first ones to show it on YouTube. They wouldn’t let him know what happened but there is a speculation it spun a rod bearing and then locked the engine.
2023 C8 Corvette Z06 Engine failure at 621miles!!!
Funny enough he goes by Marco Polo on his YouTube and he said he was going to keep his car and let GM fix it as well. Also, since that incident he has posted YouTube Shorts allowing Sigala Designs to use his car for carbon fiber aero designs so it looks like it was fixed already too.
Now that he has the second engine installed he also did a review of his Amplify Orange C8 Corvette Z06.
In these videos by Fabspeed Motorsport and StreetSpeed717 you can hear the difference between the stock C8 Z06 exhaust and their first ever aftermarket exhaust components for the C8 Z06.
Fabspeed Motorsport was the first aftermarket exhaust shop to get a hold of a C8 Z06 thanks to StreetSpeed717. And using his car they were able to build a mold for a new cat back exhaust system for the C8 Z06 as well as sport cats.
A couple things you will notice in the videos is the stock C8 Corvette Z06 exhaust is amazing as is since Chevrolet took over two years to refine the sound from the flat plane crank engine they modeled off of the Ferrari 458.
Another thing you will notice with just the sport cats alone the C8 Z06 gets a louder sound but same tone from the stock exhaust built for the C8 Z06. Emelia Hartford has a video as well where she shows the stock C8 Z06 exhaust is straight piped in track mode.
So really the difference with the Fabspeed Motorsport cat back exhaust for the C8 Corvette Z06 is losing weight, better looking, and a little bit more of a higher pitched tone or sound.
After watching the videos what do you think? Leave a comment below would you leave a Corvette Z06 exhaust stock, add Fabspeed sport cats for the C8 Z06, or a complete system with the Fabspeed Motorsport cat back as well?
Fabspeed High Flow Sport Cats C8 Corvette Z06
Corvette C8 Z06 2023+ | Fabspeed High Flow Sport Cats and Supersport X-Pipe Exhaust Explained!
Fabspeed explains the sport cats look very similar to the base model C8 Corvette however they are more high flow with a larger HJS 200 Cell cat.
They also gained about 19 more horsepower with their dyno testing just adding the Sport cats to the C8 Z06. Also, with their Supersport X-pipe exhaust they still were able to get more performance and sound gains.
If you are interested in purchasing the Fabspeed cat back exhaust or sport cats for the new Corvette Z06 check out more information here and when contacting them to purchase mention you found them on C8CorvetteBlog.com
In this video by Flying Wheels on YouTube he films the first C8 Corvette Z06 being sold for well over $140k above the MSRP of $113k at Mecum Auctions in Florida. The sold priced of the C8 Corvette Z06 at Mecum Auctions was $275,000.

Up next starting January 21st, 2022 until January 29th, 2022 Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale should have a few of these C8 Corvette Z06s on the auction block and we will get to see if this trend continues.
One thing we know for sure is Chevy dealerships have been marking up the C8 Corvette stingray since it came out in 2020 and have been marking up the C8 Corvette Z06 anywhere from $50,000 to $100,000 as well.
There were 120 Chevrolet Corvette Z06s ordered for stock and dealers are taking advantage of the C8 Z06 market as it might be the last naturally aspirated Corvette ever produced since Chevrolet is announcing the C8 Corvette E Ray hybrid electric all wheel drive model on January 17th.
In this video by Speed Phenom he finds a Chevrolet dealership Connell Chevrolet in Costa Mesa, California area hoarding Chevy Corvette Z06s.
Since the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 starting hitting dealer lots that ordered them for stock vs all the people and customers waiting in line Chevy dealers are marking them up over $50-100k+ and more.
In the video if you pause it around the 2 minute and 11 second mark on Speed Phenom’s video you can see this dealer is Connell Chevrolet in Costa Mesa, California. They received four C8 Corvette Z06s and still haven’t sold any of them. And they said they have no customer orders but are going to mark up the C8 Corvette Z06s.
So four C8 Corvette Z06s that could of went to customers waiting on MSRP lists like Ciocca Corvette instead of this Chevy dealer in Costa Mesa, CA hoarding them and marking them up as Speed Phenom points out.
In this video by Marco Garcia on YouTube (update he changed his YouTube to Marco Polo/poloworld310) he documents buying a C8 Corvette Z06 for $50,000 over sticker for a C8 Z06 1LZ base model from Covina Hills Chevrolet and it needing to be flat bedded 50 miles of driving it!
However, in this video you can now see not only did this 1LZ base model (111k-113k) C8 Corvette Z06 cost $50,000 over sticker at Covina Hills Chevrolet it died 50 miles from the dealership and they wouldn’t accept the tow to the dealer. Marco Garcia had to have it towed back to his construction business lot.
There have only been about 400 C8 Corvette Z06s made at this point and not every C8 Corvette Z06 is being put on YouTube but at least two now are having transmission or engine issues. Also, StreetSpeed717 documented his throwing check engine lights if he does donuts in the car.
Check out this video on the New 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 breaking down after 50 miles of leaving the dealer that marked it up $50,000.
Leave a comment on what you think went wrong with the engine and that really bad knocking sound as well as launch of this car that has been really bad.
GM and Chevrolet has favored YouTubers, Chevy Dealers are marking them up $50-200k, and now the first few to hit the streets are breaking. Will things get better or worse for the C8 Z06?
Videos were made private however there is a video at the bottom of the post with the C8 Corvette Z06 engine noise it was making at 52 miles.
UPDATE: 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Broken Engine Transmission
In this update Marco Garcia goes over day number two for the C8 Corvette Z06 with the engine issues. He has experienced bad service with the Chevy dealership he purchased it from and since it only had 50 miles on it OnStar didn’t haven’t the warranty information.
Once his dealership got to the dealer he started receiving OnStar email messages and the My Chevrolet app said everything is good. Then he received an emission warning and then he received an issue with the Engine and Transmission system and to bring it in 1 day.
He is requesting his cash back from Covina Hills Chevrolet where he gave them $50,000 over and paid for his C8 Corvette Z06 in cash.
UPDATE! Marco Keeps the C8 Z06 even though dealer offered full refund and he paid over MSRP
He mentioned the the dealer gave him 3 options on his C8 Z06 that blew the engine..
Full refund 180K+
Wait 2 months and get parts to fix
Get next allocation in 6 months or so
He chose number 2 and is going to wait for parts and for this C8 Z06 that was bought for $69k over sticker with tax and other up charges from the dealer.
Also, he made his other videos private however there are other people that reposted the engine sound after 52 miles and had to get it towed.
In this video by Doug DeMuro owner of Cars and Bids and popular YouTube car reviewer he gives his take and Doug Score on the all new 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
Doug DeMuro did review the C8 Z06 at the unveil at the Petersen Museum but is giving some more insights on the C8 Z06 with it in hand now with the ability to drive it as well.
Doug DeMuro also reviewed the C8 Corvette Stingray with other car YouTubers giving C8 Corvette reviews which is one of his most popular videos which just goes to show how popular of a car the C8 Corvette platform truly is. It’s hard to dispute you get so much value with the price point and power vs. the Supercar and exotic car market.
People often ask me why I don’t review modified cars. Today Doug DeMuro is explaining why he doesn’t review modified cars. I’m going to explain what a modified car is (to me, anyway), and then I’ll cover the reasons why I only review clean, unmodified cars.
Doug Demuro Likes and Dislikes of the C8 Corvette Z06
The look of the C8 Corvette Z06 with a wider body and Z07 track package and carbon fiber
66 out of 100 on the Doug Score scoring higher than a 2020 Porsche 718, 2021 M4, Nissan GT-R Nismo but lower than a 2022 Porsche 911 GT3, McLaren 675LT, McLaren 720s, Porsche 911 GT2RS and Lamborghini Huracan Performante
Amazing weekend car but he doesn’t like it daily with a more harsher ride and only scoring the car 2 spot above the regular C8 Corvette Stingray
In this video you can see the Stradman’s C8 Corvette Z06 has a huge puddle of either transmission fluid or oil. The Stradman James thinks it’s transmission fluid. Rick Conti thinks from his Chevy rep its a possible transmission seal and no the transmission fluid isn’t red.
Chevrolet told him not to start the C8 Z06 in case it is and the transmission doesn’t have any fluid it would blow the transmission. Transmission problems are not new to the C8 Corvette. We have documented others documenting their C8 Corvette transmission problems and issues too.
It’s a Tremac DCT, however the C8 Z06 just started getting delivered to YouTubers like the Stradman and this is the first documented issue with the new 2023 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06.
We will keep this post updated when Stradman shares what happened but below is a video from Rick Corvette Conti on what he thinks about the C8 Z06 issue.
STRADMAN’S C8 Z06 ISSUE ~OVER THE AIR UPDATE & RAW RICKY CONVERSATION THEN YOUR RIDES!
Rick Corvette Conti thinks The Stradman didn’t break in his C8 Corvette Z06 properly since he was drag racing with the Triple F Collection. You can see the Stradman drag racing the C8 Corvette Z06 already.
The recommendation is to wait until after 1,500 miles to start any track racing with the new C8 Corvette Z06

Update the Stradman C8 Corvette Z06 Transmission Issue
In this update on the C8 Z06 transmission issue that the Stradman had was a transmission pan gasket which is an easy fix and under warranty of course.
In this video you can see Emelia Hartford take delivery of her brand new 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Emelia Hartford’s C8 Z06 is amplify orange with the Z07 package without the carbon fiber wheels.
In this video by Hagerty on YouTube you will see the C8 Corvette Z06 demolish a Porsche 992 GT3 and Audi R8 V10 in a drag race!
This is the ultimate performance and drag race comparison of some of the best naturally aspirated engines. Also, the C8 Corvette Z06 is 450 lbs. less then the Porsche but the Porsche has tons of drag.
The 2023 Chevrolet C8 Corvette 670hp flat plane crank beats the Porsche 993 GT3 by 5 car lengths in this drag race comparison.
To be fair they admit the Audi R8 they could get was a spyder version that weighs 250lb more than the C8 Corvette Z06
This drag race pits the new 2023 Corvette Z06, and its outrageous, 8600-rpm 5.5-liter flat-plane-crank V-8 against the world’s fastest naturally aspirated, mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive cars — and one motorcycle: Representing the 4-cylinder engine is the 15,500-rpm Ducati Panigale SP2, Ducati’s top-of-the-line track-focused superbike. The 6-cylinder Porsche 911 GT3 is the naturally aspirated benchmark at more than 125 hp/liter and a 9000-rpm redline. And the Audi R8 Performance V10 Spyder RWD has an 8700-rpm screaming V-10 shared with the Lamborghini Huracan. In this episode of Cammisa’s Ultimate Drag Race Replay, Webby Award-winning automotive journalist is joined by SCCA Hall of Fame Race Car Driver Randy Pobst — and MotoAmerica Supersport Champion rider Josh Herrin. And they might have attacked one another with a baseball bat.
