The C8 Z06 LT6 engine produces 670 hp at 8,400 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque at at 6,300 rpm. It also comes equipped with double overhead cams, dry-sump lubrication, and a flat-plane crankshaft. It revs to 8,600 RPM.
We covered Drive 615 spotting one of the first C8 Corvette Z06s right after the reveal in November 2021 in red mist as well.
It’s finally August 11th and “Thursday” allocation numbers that were anticipated today for the C8 Corvette Z06 sill haven’t been released.
However, we now know what Rick Corvette Conti was hinting at when he said C8 Corvette Z06 allocations had something to do with the number 3.
THIS IS HOW C8 2023 Z06 ALLOCATIONS ARE DETERMINED FOR DEALERS
At first we thought that had something to do with the Top 3 Chevy Corvette dealers with the most C8 Corvette sales will get the most as they usually do (Ciocca, MacMulkin, Criswell).
However the memo has stated the Chevy dealers with the most C8 Corvette sales since 2020 but with a caveat. It’s going to be based on the most “3LT” model C8 Corvettes with that trim package.
Rick Corvette Conti mentioned YouTubers and special VIP customers will get their C8 Corvettes first and that’s why you are seeing some at 3000 status with production start dates on September 19th, 2022. He also confirmed that there are constraints on the Z07 package and carbon fiber aero but that just means limited production so again its most likely you will see the first C8 Corvette Z06 produced have those options available to them especially the “VIP” customers Chevrolet and General Motors are choosing.
This means you are likely to see people like StreetSpeed717 and Emelia Hartford get the first C8 Corvette Z06s besides people like Rick Hendricks that bid over $4 million combined to charities at Barrett Jackson to get the first Convertible and Coupe C8 Corvette Z06.

The memo also said the carbon fiber aero and Z07 package isn’t available. This is going to be a bummer for most people that have already been waiting years for this car. Especially since that package along with Carbon Fiber Wheels is what track enthusiasts really want. However, there are great aftermarket carbon fiber aero companies like Racing Sport Concepts that have a full C8 Corvette body aero kit and looks like a better anyway.
For example YouTubers like Speed Phenom that tracks his cars that has “put in an order” with a Chevy dealer in California to be first will have to decide does he want to be first or wait for the track focused package for example.
Another interesting thing about the 3LT package being a signal for dealers to get the most C8 Corvette Z06s could this be another way to limit flippers?
Most flippers want the most profit on their flips so typically they know even a 1LT or 2LT can get them the most profit with all the hype.
If a flipper has to choose a 3LT they won’t make as much profit on the flip so maybe this is another creative way Chevrolet and GM are using to limit and discourage flippers from getting these cars. Especially with them having to choose a 3LT with no aero package or Z07 options as well.

The video Rick Corvette Conti shared was deleted but in the beginning of this video below you can see his response after that video had a really negative response as he explained it was the owners of Coughlin Chevrolet of Pataskala not himself making that decision of having the highest bidder win their first allocation of the Corvette C8 Z06.
2023 Z06 ORDERING RESPONSE
We decided to reach out to Coughlin Chevrolet of Pataskala on Instagram since they just had the C8 Z06 dealer tour and ordering is open and asked “What’s your highest bid for the Z06”?
They responded “We do not speak about that information to the public. Thanks!”..
Corvette C8 ZO6 Reveal at COUGHLIN CHEVROLET IN PATASKALA
We thought finding out what their highest bid was would help the “public” who would be bidding know what they need to “beat” to be their first C8 Corvette Z06 allocation.
We have since asked “How will the public know what to bid? and who’s the highest bidder at the moment” meaning did someone bid $10k over MSRP? Did they bid $100k over MSRP ect.. but no response yet.
We are not looking for a person’s name rather what is the highest bid that someone has to beat to be their first C8 Corvette Z06 allocation since they have said they are having a bidding war for over MSRP for it. Sounds like it might be a “blind” bidding war meaning just submit your highest bid for their C8 Corvette Z06 allocation and cross your fingers you were the highest bidder.
It’s pretty crazy not to know what to bid especially with them being in the Top 10 of dealers for Corvette sales and selling over 200 C8 Corvettes in the last few years. One of the top Corvette dealer Ciocca Corvette was very upfront and picked a day for people to stand in line first come first serve or send a wire and gained over 6,000 people on their list at MSRP. They sold over 1,400 C8 Corvettes last year. They also have a C8 Corvette Z06 tracker for their list.

We asked what if we wanted to bid or the public wanted to know so they knew what they would have to bid.
They said they “will ask the right to member and back to us”
With the release of C8 Corvette Z06 pricing and order banks ready other than dealers waiting for their allocations we decided to check in on the current state of the C8 Corvette Z06 lists and call every “top” corvette Chevy dealer in Phoenix with a specialty in Corvette sales the last few years.
Here’s what some of Chevy Dealers in Phoenix, Arizona had to say about marking up the C8 Corvette Z06
Sands Chevrolet Surprise want $40k over MSRP and didn’t seem like they took deposits yet or have a solid list willing to pay that
Sands Chevrolet Glendale said they are not sure but most likely $30k over MSRP and again haven’t entered an order yet and seems like they haven’t taken deposits but have a list of people they will call to see if they are willing to pay that.
Courtesy Chevrolet said they have 60 people at first on their list and then it turned into 76 people and they are charging a $20,000 mark up and all 76 people agreed to that mark up supposedly.
Luckily there are dealers in the country that are offering the C8 Corvette Z06 at MSRP like Ciocca, MacMulkin, and Criswell Chevrolet. Also, Whitmoyer Chevrolet who is friends with StreetSpeed717 and has about 4-5 YouTubers as his first orders is also honoring MSRP.

In this video by Speed Phenom on YouTube he visits a few local dealers in his area in Southern California to not only see the C8 Corvette mark ups that have continued these last few years but also other brands like Ford and Porsche marking up their vehicles as well.
As the supply chain issue persists, inflation has risen to over 9%, and with short supplies and high demand for performance vehicles like the C8 Corvette Z06 some dealerships are still taking advantage and charging $20k-$200k in mark ups on the most sought after cars. That mark up is pure profit for each dealership.
Chevrolet and General Motors are trying to combat dealers with memos and flippers with voiding the warranty on the C8 Corvette Z06 if you sell it before the first year of ownership.
However, that will not stop a flipper it might stop the potential for used car dealers to buy it or the second owners of the C8 Z06 that lose the warranty potentially. They are blacklisting people that flip the C8 Z06 from getting access to newer C8 Corvette models or Corvette models in the future as well.

In this video from Records Rebuilds on YouTube he shares his insights on the C8 Z06 Warranty GM will void in the first year to prevent flippers from selling the C8 Z06 in the first 12 months.

Ciocca Corvette bought Kerbeck Corvette within the last year and sold the most C8 Corvettes in 2021 with over 1,400 C8 Corvettes sold.
He is in the low 200s on their list and is thinking he will get it now in the March 2023 range if the C8 Z06 production starts September 15th, 2022 as projected.
As the C8 Corvette Z06 makes its rounds on the dealer tour it finally hit Whitmoyer Chevy or Whitmoyer Auto Group where at least 4-5 YouTubers are ordering their C8 Z06 from Matt Beaver who’s good friends with StreetSpeed717.

$200k Corvette C8 Z06 Order!? * Update on all the cars we have coming to the channel!
In this video by Mike (StreetSpeed717) on YouTube he reached out to another Chevy Dealership for a second C8 Corvette Z06 since he already was first on his buddy Matt Beaver at Whitmoyer Chevy’s List.
As he went to go check in on his 2nd C8 Corvette Z06 list the Chevy saleswoman called him back and said he is still on the list but the current mark up was $100,000 and if he paid more he can get pushed higher up in the front of the line.
Although this was shocking for StreetSpeed717 since he is use to Matt at Whitmoyer hooking him up with the 1st position on his Corvette lists as they come out he wasn’t aware the other Chevy dealers have gone this insane.
Also, this isn’t anything new since even starting with the C8 Corvette in March of 2020 as they hit lots Chevy dealers from our own personal experience here in Arizona were charging $20k plus mark ups on that car. Van Chevrolet and Gateway Chevrolet being a few examples.
Currently this weekend we checked the local Arizona market and Van Chevrolet is still 100k over MSRP, 10k deposit, Midway Chevrolet wants 50k mark ups and supposedly have 16 people ready to pay that.
Earnhardt Chevrolet was over 75k MSRP, Gateway Chevrolet told us they have someone willing to pay 74.9k over MSRP, 5 other people willing to pay 50K over but we could be 6th on their list at MSRP unless we wanted to beat the $74.9k mark up.
Although GM is sending out letters and trying to stop flippers with the $5000 Chevy Rewards offer and no warranty if you sell the C8 Z06 within the first 12 months the bigger issue is the Chevy Dealers.
If GM and Chevrolet really wanted to stop the over MSRP nonsense they could take the Tesla approach only on the Corvette brand let people buy directly from them and have them delivered to their door or local Chevy Dealer for pick up. The Chevy dealers will still get the service on the Corvettes and then Chevrolet can price the Corvettes higher to keep flippers from making any profit on a flip.
