2023 C8 Corvette Dealer Tours & Pricing Information Update (VIDEO)

In this video by Speed Phenom on YouTube he covers the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 dealer tours coming to Chevy dealers across the US and the latest pricing information on the C8 Z06.

As he drives his C8.R edition C8 Corvette he is selling to get a C8 Z06 he talks about the buzz and all the pricing guesses from the C8 Corvette blogs like ours, forums and C8 Corvette Facebook Groups.

The C8 Corvette Z06 pricing has been guessed at about $87995 to $90k starting out for the base model non Z07 package C8 Z06.

He’s thinking the official C8 Corvette Z06 pricing will be announced this month and the latest by April to coincide with the dealer tours.

We agree that the pricing should be by April 28th-30th the latest since that is when the National Corvette Museum has the 2022 Michelin NCM Bash in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Lamborghini Urus vs Corvette C8: Race Result and Real Numbers

⚡ QUICK ANSWER

The C8 Stingray beats the Urus, from a dig and from a roll.

A stock C8 Corvette Stingray is quicker than a Lamborghini Urus. In magazine testing the Stingray Z51 ran 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and the quarter mile in 11.1 at 123.2 mph. The 641 hp Urus ran 3.2 seconds and 11.4 at 121 mph. The Urus makes more power but carries well over 1,000 lb more.

2020 Urus vs 2022 Stingray, base

A 641 hp, all-wheel-drive Lamborghini against a 495 hp, rear-drive Corvette looks like an easy win for the Lamborghini. It is not. I have owned four C8s (a Stingray, two Z06s and the ZR1 I own now), and the Stingray is the least powerful of them. It is still quicker than a Urus. Here is the race, the published test numbers for both, and the reason the lighter car wins.

The video: a 2022 C8 Stingray roll races a 2020 Urus

The video is “Lamborghini Urus vs Corvette C8” from the YouTube channel C8_Moe. Per the video description, the cars are a 2022 C8 Corvette and a 2020 Lamborghini Urus. The Corvette’s only listed mod is an AWE exhaust. A 2022 C8 is a Stingray with the 6.2L LT2, because the Z06 did not arrive until the 2023 model year.

It is a roll race from roughly 40 mph, not a dig. Once both cars are on the throttle, the Corvette pulls away from the Urus. Here is what is known about the run and what is not:

  • Confirmed: 2022 C8 Corvette with an AWE exhaust against a 2020 Urus, from a roll, and the Corvette wins.
  • Not known: whether the Corvette has the Z51 package.
  • Not known: whether the Urus is stock.
  • Not known: any times or trap speeds. A roll race is not timed like a dragstrip pass, so treat it as one data point.

One roll race proves little by itself. The published test numbers are what make the result believable.

Urus vs C8 Stingray: tested numbers side by side

The nearest published instrumented tests to the two cars in the video are MotorTrend’s 2020 Stingray Z51 and Car and Driver’s 2019 Urus. The 2022 Stingray uses the same LT2 V8 and 8-speed dual-clutch as the 2020 car.

Base price $62,195 (2022) $207,326 (2020) CorvSport, Cars.com

The two cars were tested by different magazines on different days, so read the gaps as approximate. Chevrolet’s 3,366 lb is a dry weight with no fluids. Lamborghini’s 4,843 lb is a curb weight.

The numbers in plain sentences. MotorTrend’s 2020 Stingray Z51 reached 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and ran the quarter mile in 11.1 seconds at 123.2 mph. Car and Driver’s Urus reached 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and ran the quarter mile in 11.4 seconds at 121 mph. That puts the Corvette 0.4 seconds ahead to 60, 0.3 seconds ahead at the end of the quarter, and 2.2 mph faster through the traps.

On power the Urus is well ahead. Its twin-turbo V8 makes 641 hp and 627 lb-ft, against 490 hp and 465 lb-ft for a base LT2 Stingray, or 495 hp and 470 lb-ft with the Z51 package. On weight it is the other way around. Lamborghini lists the Urus at 4,843 lb (2,197 kg). Chevrolet lists the LT2 Stingray coupe at 3,366 lb (1,527 kg) dry. That is a 1,477 lb (670 kg) difference on the makers’ own figures.

Why the Corvette wins from a roll

A roll race removes the launch. Both cars are already moving, so traction off the line stops mattering and it comes down to how much weight each horsepower has to push.

  • Weight per horsepower favors the C8. On the makers’ figures, each Corvette horsepower moves about 6.9 lb and each Urus horsepower moves about 7.6 lb. The 151 hp advantage does not cover a 1,477 lb penalty.
  • The real gap is probably wider. Carscoops’ report on the Car and Driver test lists the Urus at 5,314 lb (2,410 kg). At that weight each horsepower moves about 8.3 lb.
  • All-wheel drive adds little at 40 mph. Driving four wheels pays off most from a stop. Once both cars are rolling, the rear-drive C8 can put its power down too.
  • Trap speed already said so. Quarter mile trap speed is the best published stand-in for a roll race, because it reflects power against weight more than launch. The Stingray trapped at 123.2 mph. The Urus trapped at 121 mph.

So the video result is what the test sheets predict. A 2022 Stingray with an exhaust should walk away from a 2020 Urus from 40 mph, and it does.

From a dig, the Urus gets closer

A standing start is the Urus’s best case. It drives all four wheels through a Torsen center differential with a default 40/60 front to rear split, and its 627 lb-ft arrives by 2,250 rpm. The Stingray’s torque peak sits at 5,150 rpm. For the first car length, that is a real advantage.

The C8 answers with layout. With the engine behind the driver, 60.6 percent of the Stingray’s weight sits over the driven rear wheels, which is why a rear-drive car can reach 60 mph in 2.8 seconds at all. Lamborghini’s own claim for the Urus is 3.6 seconds to 62 mph, and Car and Driver’s test car did 3.2 seconds to 60. Chevrolet claims 2.9 seconds to 60 for a Z51 Stingray.

There is a written record of this matchup from a dig. In February 2021, CorvetteBlogger covered the Speed Phenom channel’s 2020 Stingray Z51 coupe against a Urus over the eighth mile at Irwindale Dragstrip. The Urus had a mild tune and a downpipe. They ran twice. The Urus driver got a much better jump on the second run, and the article calls it a split decision, but the Corvette took the win on elapsed time.

🏁 OWNER TAKE

A hard launch is where the Urus is most dangerous and where the C8 is most stressed. I broke a rear half shaft launching my Stingray, so I do not treat dig racing as free. If you line up against a Urus, a roll is the easier win and the cheaper one. See C8 Corvette axle failures.

Price: one Urus costs more than three Stingrays

A 2020 Lamborghini Urus started at $207,326. A 2022 Corvette Stingray coupe started at $62,195 including destination, and the convertible at $69,695. The base price gap is $145,131. Three Stingray coupes come to $186,585, which still leaves $20,741 of the Urus’s sticker.

These are different vehicles for different jobs. The Urus is an SUV with a back seat and a cargo area. On acceleration alone, though, the cheaper car is the quicker one.

How the newer cars change the picture

Both lineups have moved since that video. The Urus SE is a plug-in hybrid. The Corvette lineup now has five models above the Stingray, and the Stingray has a bigger engine.

Car Power Maker’s sprint claim
Urus SE (plug-in hybrid) about 800 hp 3.4 s, 0 to 62 mph
Urus SE Performante 812 hp, 738 lb-ft 3.3 s, 0 to 62 mph
Corvette Z06 (Z07) 670 hp 2.6 s, 0 to 60 mph
Corvette ZR1 (ZTK) 1,064 hp 2.3 s, 0 to 60 mph
Corvette ZR1X 1,250 hp 1.68 s, 0 to 60 mph

Sources: Lamborghini figures as published by Edmunds, GM figures as published by CorvetteBlogger. Lamborghini quotes 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) and GM quotes 0 to 60 mph, so the two columns are not on the same yardstick.

On the Lamborghini side, the Urus SE is a plug-in hybrid with about 800 hp, and Lamborghini claims 3.4 seconds to 62 mph with a top speed of about 194 mph. Edmunds lists the outgoing SE at $262,631 including destination. The Urus SE Performante, due late in 2026, pairs the twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor for 812 hp and 738 lb-ft, with a claimed 3.3 seconds to 62 mph. That is 171 hp more than the 2020 Urus, and Lamborghini’s own sprint claim moved from 3.6 seconds to 3.3.

On the Corvette side, the 2027 Stingray moved to the 6.7L LS6 with 535 hp and 520 lb-ft, 45 hp more than a base LT2 Stingray. Above it, GM claims 2.6 seconds to 60 for the 670 hp Z06 with Z07 and 2.3 seconds for the 1,064 hp ZR1 with ZTK. The 1,250 hp ZR1X is in another category: GM says 1.68 seconds to 60 and an 8.675 second quarter mile at 159 mph on a prepped strip, and 8.99 seconds on an unprepped surface with the ZTK package.

The ZR1X and the 721 hp Grand Sport X also matter for a second reason. Both are hybrid all-wheel-drive Corvettes, so the one advantage the Urus had off the line is now available on the Chevrolet side too. Every trim’s time is in my C8 Corvette 0 to 60 guide.

✅ CONFIRMED

On the published tests above, a stock 641 hp Urus is behind a stock C8 Stingray Z51 to 60 mph and through the quarter mile. If a Urus beats a C8 in a video, the likely reasons are a tune on the Lamborghini or a bad launch in the Corvette.

Frequently asked questions

Can a C8 Corvette beat a Lamborghini Urus?

Yes. A stock C8 Stingray Z51 ran 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and the quarter mile in 11.1 seconds at 123.2 mph in MotorTrend testing. Car and Driver measured the 641 hp Urus at 3.2 seconds and 11.4 seconds at 121 mph. The Corvette is ahead from a dig and from a roll.

Is a Lamborghini Urus faster than a C8 Corvette?

Not in acceleration. The Urus makes more power, 641 hp against 495 hp, but it carries far more weight. Lamborghini lists 4,843 lb, and Chevrolet lists the Stingray at 3,366 lb dry. Each Urus horsepower moves about 7.6 lb. Each Corvette horsepower moves about 6.9 lb.

Who wins a roll race, the Urus or the C8?

The C8. In the C8_Moe video a 2022 Stingray with an exhaust pulls away from a 2020 Urus from a roll. That matches the test data. All-wheel drive stops mattering once both cars are moving, and the Corvette’s 123.2 mph quarter mile trap speed beats the Urus at 121 mph.

Does all-wheel drive help the Urus off the line?

It helps, but not enough against a stock C8. The Urus drives all four wheels and makes 627 lb-ft by 2,250 rpm. The Stingray puts 60.6 percent of its weight over the driven rear wheels and still reached 60 mph 0.4 seconds sooner in magazine testing.

How much does a Lamborghini Urus cost compared to a C8 Corvette?

A 2020 Urus started at $207,326. A 2022 Corvette Stingray coupe started at $62,195 with destination, and the convertible at $69,695. That is a $145,131 gap at the base price, so one Urus cost about as much as three Stingray coupes with money left over.

Is the new Urus SE quicker than a Corvette?

Lamborghini claims 3.4 seconds from 0 to 62 mph for the plug-in hybrid Urus SE and 3.3 seconds for the 812 hp SE Performante. GM claims 2.6 seconds to 60 mph for the Z06, 2.3 for the ZR1 and 1.68 for the ZR1X. The Corvette side is still ahead on the makers’ own claims.

Elkhart Lake Blue C8 Corvette Z06 Spotted (VIDEO)

Check out this video by DetroitMuscle313 on YouTube where he spots an Elkhart Lake Blue C8 Corvette Z06 out on the road.

Right away his first impression is a good one and he mentions how big the tires are since the new C8 Z06 come with Michelin 345/25ZR/21 rear tires.

He also mentions how the C8 Z06 looks a lot more exotic like other mid engine supercars and now with the flat plane crank it has the high revving sounds as well. In this video you will see this is the base model C8 Corvette Z06 since it doesn’t have the higher bird like wing in the rear as the spoiler although it does look like the side skirts are carbon fiber.

Chevrolet or the Corvette Engineers have been testing these New C8 Corvette Z06s out on the roads in public without any camo a lot more recently we just posted one spotted in the Hypersonic Gray color as well.

What do you think of the Elkhart Lake Blue Corvette C8 Z06?

Emelia Hartford’s Twin-Turbo C8 Corvette: Records and Timeline

⚡ QUICK ANSWER

The builder behind Phoenix, the twin-turbo C8 that ran 9.36.

Emelia Hartford is a car builder, driver and presenter best known to Corvette people for Phoenix, her twin-turbo 2020 C8 Stingray. It made 1,022 hp at the wheels and ran a 9.36-second quarter mile at 147 mph at Famoso Raceway in June 2021, the quickest C8 pass at the time.

I have owned four C8s, one of them a Stingray, the same car Emelia Hartford started with. She took hers a lot further. This page is the Corvette side of her story in date order: the build, the records, the broken parts, and the Corvettes that came after.

Who Emelia Hartford is, for Corvette people

Hartford launched her YouTube channel in 2017 and built it around modifying cars herself. Corvette people know her for one car above the rest: a white and orange 2020 Stingray she named Phoenix, which held the C8 quarter-mile record in 2021.

Her work has spread out since then. She played Leah Vega in the 2023 film Gran Turismo, began co-hosting the Car Stories podcast with Sung Kang in September 2023, and in June 2026 she drove a Corvette ZR1 up Pikes Peak. Her official site is emeliahartford.com.

Phoenix is a 2020 Stingray that made 1,022 hp at the wheels

Phoenix started as a 2020 Stingray, so the base engine is the 6.2L LT2 that Chevrolet rated at 495 hp with the performance exhaust. The turbos went on in the summer of 2020. CorvetteBlogger reported on July 30, 2020 that the kit had been added over roughly the previous month, and that an early dyno session showed 539 hp and 609 lb-ft.

By March 2021 the numbers had nearly doubled. The dyno figure was 1,022 hp and 942 lb-ft at the wheels, which is more than double the factory rating, and the factory rating is measured at the crank. The parts list that got it there:

  • Short block: upgraded, with forged pistons.
  • Turbos: twin Precision 62/66 units.
  • Power adders on top: methanol injection and nitrous.
  • Transmission: upgraded clutches in the dual-clutch gearbox.
  • Turbo control: a Peitz Performance control unit.
  • Fueling: a Holley Dominator EFI standalone ECU running auxiliary fuel.
  • Fuel: 91 octane mixed with C16 race gas.

The two extra control boxes are there because the factory C8 ECU is encrypted. It could not be tuned directly at the time, so the team ran the boost and the added fuel on separate hardware beside the stock computer. The team said that piggyback setup needed constant tuning, and controlling the transmission became the recurring problem.

If you want boost on a C8 without chasing records, I cover the bolt-on route in my C8 supercharger and ProCharger guide.

The records: 9.41 in March 2021, then 9.36 in June

Both record days happened at Famoso Raceway in California. Going into March 2021, the quickest C8 quarter mile was a 9.95 from Extreme Turbo Systems. Hartford made three passes that reset it: 9.908 seconds at 138.70 mph, then 9.474 after the boost went up to 11 psi, then 9.41 seconds at 144 mph. Turn 14’s report from March 16, 2021 has the day in detail.

She came back in June 2021 for a private two-day test. Day one produced a 9.39 and a 9.36, the 9.36 at 147 mph. Day two went the other way. The car ran 9.63, then 9.75, dropped into limp mode in fourth gear, and the crew parked it with the clutches as the suspect, as CorvetteBlogger reported on June 15, 2021.

The record did not last. FuelTech’s C8 later ran 8.973 seconds at 160.92 mph, the first C8 pass in the eights. CorvetteBlogger still listed 9.36 as Hartford’s personal best in April 2022, and I have not found a sourced quicker pass for Phoenix since.

Timeline: her Corvette milestones in date order

Date What happened Key number
Summer 2020 Twin turbos go on the 2020 Stingray 539 hp, 609 lb-ft
July 2020 First engine failure, a piston, on a street pull Engine rebuilt
March 2021 Dyno figure with the built engine 1,022 whp, 942 lb-ft
March 2021 Takes the C8 quarter-mile record at Famoso 9.41 s @ 144 mph
June 2021 Lowers her own record at a private Famoso test 9.36 s @ 147 mph
June 2021 Day two: limp mode in fourth gear, clutches suspected 9.63 s, 9.75 s
October 2021 Helps Chevrolet reveal the 2023 Corvette Z06 Z06 reveal
By January 2022 FuelTech’s C8 takes the record into the eights 8.973 s @ 160.92 mph
April 2022 Return to Famoso ends with coolant in the oil 9.74 s @ 144.21 mph
December 2022 Phoenix’s turbo system moves to her new 2023 Z06 3 psi first drive
April 2023 New Texas Speed LT2 arrives for Phoenix 1,500 hp billing
June 2026 Runs a 2026 Corvette ZR1 at Pikes Peak 10:11.018

The setbacks: two engines and a lot of clutch trouble

July 2020, the first engine. The turbos had been on the car about a month. During a quick pull on the street while she was getting the car ready for a road rally, the LT2 started ticking. A borescope showed a failed piston. The plan from there was a stronger engine, and by March 2021 the short block had forged pistons.

June 2021, the transmission. The day after the 9.36, Phoenix backfired, went into limp mode in fourth gear and slowed to 9.75. The team suspected the tune and the clutches, not the engine.

April 2022, the second engine. Phoenix went back to Famoso with a prototype transmission controller. Boost started at 9 psi and went to 13 psi. The best pass was 9.74 seconds at 144.21 mph, short of her 9.36. On one run the transmission jumped straight to sixth gear. The outing ended with what looked like coolant in the oil, and the engine was torn down afterward. CorvetteBlogger covered that outing on April 10, 2022.

🏁 Owner take

I broke a rear half shaft launching my Stingray, so none of this surprises me. Making 1,022 hp at the wheels was the easy half. Getting a dual-clutch gearbox and a locked factory computer to live with it was the half that kept sending Phoenix home early. Related: C8 Corvette axle and half shaft failures.

The video: why Phoenix went quiet at the end of 2021

After the June 2021 record the Corvette mostly dropped off her channel. This update, which CorvetteBlogger wrote up on January 7, 2022, is her explanation. The short version is testing and development behind the scenes. What she walks through:

  • The intercooler had a hairline fracture and was replaced with a reinforced one.
  • The direct injectors were gummed up from leaded fuel and methanol and were replaced.
  • The PCV lines were rerouted, and oil return reservoirs were added at the back of the car.
  • Extra cooling went in, with mesh to protect it.
  • Transmission control was still the open item, with dyno time planned before any return to the strip.

The April 2022 Famoso trip above was the return that followed.

What Phoenix runs now

The most recent build state I can source is from April 2023. CorvSport reported on April 13, 2023 that Hartford had taken delivery of a rebuilt LT2 from Texas Speed, billed at 1,500 hp, along with a new turbo system, clutch plates, a flywheel and lighter brakes. The stated goal was a 7-second quarter mile.

I have not found a published time slip for Phoenix on that engine, so I am not going to quote one. The 9.36 at 147 mph from June 2021 is the number that stands.

Her other Corvettes: a twin-turbo Z06 and a Pikes Peak ZR1

The 2023 Z06

Hartford helped Chevrolet reveal the 2023 Z06 in late October 2021. By December 2022 she had a new 2023 Z06 of her own, and she moved Phoenix’s twin-turbo system onto it. The first drive was at 3 psi with no problems reported. Her own verdict on camera was that she liked the flat-plane car better without the turbos. If you know the Z06 and its LT6, that makes sense. The sound is the car.

The 2026 ZR1 at Pikes Peak

In June 2026 she entered a 2026 Corvette ZR1, the 1,064 hp car, in the Time Attack 1 division of the 104th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Her time was 10:11.018, good for 17th overall and 4th in class, and it made her the fastest woman to run the mountain, according to CorvetteBlogger’s July 1, 2026 report.

The car was not stock. It ran Carbon Revolution carbon fiber wheels, 2.5 degrees of rear camber and extra roll cage gusseting, and it wore a livery that pays tribute to Phoenix. I own a ZR1, and my notes on the street car are in my C8 ZR1 review.

One non-Corvette number for context. Her quickest quarter-mile car is a Nissan Z she built herself, which ran 7.75 seconds at 181.85 mph in December 2024.

Frequently asked questions

Who is Emelia Hartford?

Emelia Hartford is a car builder, driver and presenter who started her YouTube channel in 2017. Corvette owners know her for Phoenix, a twin-turbo 2020 C8 Stingray that held the C8 quarter-mile record in 2021. She also played Leah Vega in the 2023 film Gran Turismo.

What is Emelia Hartford’s C8 Corvette?

It is a white and orange 2020 Corvette Stingray named Phoenix. The 6.2L LT2 was rebuilt with forged pistons and fitted with twin Precision 62/66 turbos, methanol injection and nitrous, with a Holley Dominator standalone ECU handling the extra fuel beside the locked factory computer.

How fast is Emelia Hartford’s C8 Corvette in the quarter mile?

The best documented pass for Phoenix is 9.36 seconds at 147 mph, set at Famoso Raceway in June 2021. That beat her own 9.41 at 144 mph from March 2021. Her April 2022 return produced a 9.74 at 144.21 mph before the engine had to come out.

How much horsepower does Emelia Hartford’s Corvette make?

Phoenix made 1,022 hp and 942 lb-ft at the wheels on the dyno by March 2021. A stock 2020 Stingray is rated at 495 hp at the crank. In April 2023 she received a new Texas Speed LT2 billed at 1,500 hp, but I have not seen a dyno figure for that engine.

Does Emelia Hartford still hold the C8 quarter-mile record?

No. Her 9.36 from June 2021 was beaten by FuelTech’s C8, which ran 8.973 seconds at 160.92 mph and became the first C8 in the eights. Hartford took the record in March 2021 from Extreme Turbo Systems, whose car had run 9.95.

What Corvette did Emelia Hartford race at Pikes Peak?

A 2026 Corvette ZR1 with 1,064 hp, entered in Time Attack 1 at the 104th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in June 2026. She finished in 10:11.018, which was 17th overall and 4th in class, and the fastest time by a woman on the mountain.

✍️ By TJ • C8 ZR1 Owner • Former C8 Z06 (×2) & Stingray Owner • @c8corvetteblog (30K+ on IG) • Last updated: October 10, 2026
⚡ QUICK ANSWER

Six widebody kits for the C8, from $1,709 per end to $24,995 for a full carbon kit.

The notable aftermarket widebody kits for the C8 Corvette are Pandem, Liberty Walk, Sigala Designs C8RR, Duraflex Grand Veloce, Streethunter Designs and Label Motorsports’ Vouno. Published parts prices run from $1,709 per end for Duraflex fiberglass to $24,995 for Sigala’s full carbon kit. Chevrolet’s own wide body is 3.6 inches wider than a Stingray.

C8 Corvette widebody kits compared

This page started as a post about one car, the Label Motorsports widebody C8 from the 2021 SEMA Show. It now covers every C8 widebody kit and build I could verify, with the maker, what comes in the box, how much width it adds, and what the maker or a named source says it costs. Where a number was never published, the table says so.

Kit In the kit Material Added width Published price
Pandem (Rocket Bunny) Front lip, side skirts, front and rear over-fenders, rear wing FRP +40 mm front
+70 mm rear
$8,000
Liberty Walk Front bumper with splitter, side diffusers, rear bumper, rear wing, front and rear flares Standard or carbon fiber reinforced Not published $19,580
$21,780 carbon
Sigala Designs C8RR 32 pieces: every body panel except the doors, plus hood, roof and wing Fiberglass and carbon mix, or full carbon 6 in From $14,995
$24,995 carbon
Duraflex Grand Veloce Front and rear fender panels, sold separately Fiberglass Up to 4 in $1,709 front
$1,709 rear
Streethunter Designs Wider fenders, rear quarter panels, rear diffuser, wing, nose pieces Carbon wing, diffuser and splitter Not published Not confirmed
Label Motorsports Vouno 29 carbon pieces on the SEMA car, built as a complete car Forged carbon fiber Not published Not published

Prices are parts only, in U.S. dollars, as last published: Pandem from GReddy’s U.S. listing in October 2026, Liberty Walk from January 2023, Sigala from July 2021, Duraflex from March 2022. Check the maker before you budget.

Read those prices as the first line of the bill. GReddy’s listing says the Pandem parts ship in raw gel coat that needs prep before paint, and truck freight is extra. Paint, bodywork, installation, wheels and tires come on top of every kit here.

Factory wide body vs aftermarket widebody: not the same thing

Chevrolet sells its own wide body. The Z06, Grand Sport and ZR1 are 79.7 inches (2,024 mm) wide. The Stingray is 76.1 inches (1,933 mm). That is 3.6 inches of extra width, and it comes with tires to fill it: 275/30ZR20 front and 345/25ZR21 rear, against 245/35ZR19 and 305/30ZR20 on the Stingray.

An aftermarket widebody kit is a different job. It adds flares or replacement panels to a narrow-body car. The suspension, the hubs and the stock wheels stay where Chevrolet put them, so the extra body width is empty until you change wheels and tires. Some kits also need the factory fenders cut, which you cannot undo.

The money is worth a look too. For 2027 the Grand Sport puts the factory wide body on the Stingray’s 535 hp LS6 for $15,000 more than a Stingray at the same trim. A Liberty Walk kit at $19,580 and a full carbon Sigala kit at $24,995 both cost more than that at their last published prices, before paint. I ran the full numbers in Grand Sport vs Stingray.

🏁 OWNER TAKE

I have owned four C8s: a Stingray, two Z06s and the ZR1 I have now, so I have owned both the narrow body and Chevrolet’s wide body. If width is all you want, I would buy the factory wide body. The kits make sense when you want a shape Chevrolet does not sell, and you accept that the car becomes a project.

Every C8 widebody kit, one by one

Pandem (Rocket Bunny) C8 Aero

Pandem announced its C8 kit in 2020, and the first customer car, a black Stingray on air suspension, was shown that November. GReddy sells it in the U.S. for 2020 and newer C8 coupes. The complete kit is $8,000 in FRP: a front lip ($1,250), side skirts ($1,450), front over-fenders ($2,100), rear over-fenders ($2,100) and a rear wing ($1,450). Bought one at a time the parts total $8,350.

The over-fenders are listed as +40 mm front and +70 mm rear, about 1.6 and 2.8 inches. The listing does not say whether that is per side. It does say body cutting and inner fender sealing are required. It is also the kit on TheStradman’s C8 Stingray.

Liberty Walk

Liberty Walk released its C8 Stingray kit in January 2023. Per GM Authority’s report, the complete kit is a front bumper with an integrated splitter, side diffusers, a rear bumper, a rear wing and front and rear fender flares. It was priced at $19,580, or $21,780 in carbon fiber reinforced form. The wing alone was $4,400, or $6,600 in carbon. Unlike the Pandem parts list, it includes both bumpers. No width figure was published.

Sigala Designs C8RR

The C8RR is the most complete kit of the group. CorvetteBlogger covered the finished kit in July 2021: 32 pieces that replace every body panel except the doors, including a vented hood, widebody fenders and quarter panels, a rear diffuser built around a center quad exhaust, a roof and a three-piece high wing. It makes the car six inches (152 mm) wider. Pricing started at $14,995 in a fiberglass and carbon mix and $24,995 in full carbon. Parts were also sold singly, such as the hood at $1,970 and the high wing at $1,195.

Duraflex Grand Veloce

This is the cheapest way in. Duraflex, out of Fullerton, California, makes the Grand Veloce flares in hand-laid fiberglass with a riveted-on look. CorvetteBlogger listed them in March 2022 at $1,709 for the front panels and $1,709 for the rear, $3,418 for both ends, adding up to four inches (102 mm) of width. The car in that feature ran ADV.1 wheels in 20×9.5 front and 21×12 rear on air suspension, which tells you how much wheel it takes to fill the flares.

Streethunter Designs

TJ Hunt’s kit was designed by Jon Sibal with a GT3 race car look, and it was first shown as a rendering in February 2020. The design covers wider fenders, rear quarter panels, a rear diffuser, a race wing and nose pieces. TJ Hunt’s own car, a Torch Red Stingray, was finished in August 2021 with a carbon fiber wing, diffuser and front splitter. I could not confirm a current price or a width figure, so the table leaves both open.

Label Motorsports Vouno: the SEMA 2021 build

Label Motorsports is a shop in Ada, Michigan, owned by Andy Siradakis. Its widebody C8 program is called Vouno, from the Greek word for mountain. Label showed the first renderings in August 2020. The finished car took 17 months and was revealed at the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, in the Gentex Corporation booth. It was shown again at the 2022 Michigan International Auto Show in Grand Rapids.

What makes it different from every kit above is that you do not buy it in a box. Label builds the whole car. From the Vette Vues interview with Siradakis and Label’s own build pages, the SEMA car carried:

  • 29 carbon fiber pieces, finished in forged carbon: hand-cut chips laid over a woven carbon base.
  • Air struts that Label engineered for the car.
  • CEIKA big brakes with an integrated e-brake.
  • Brixton Forged wheels.
  • An all-titanium exhaust and a functional aero hood.
  • Clear taillights developed with Gentex, plus Alcantara interior trim.

Label has kept going since. Chassis number 3 was its first widebody C8 convertible, a 35-piece program with full carbon fiber replacement fenders and Brixton AS01 wheels, built for a client in Texas as one of an initial five builds. The Label pages I read give no price and no width figure. You commission a car through Label Motorsports directly.

Video: the Label Motorsports widebody C8 in 4K

Khoality Media filmed the Label car in 4K and published it as “One of a Kind Widebody C8 Built by Label.” This is the video the first version of this post was written around.

The widebody C8s at SEMA 2021

SEMA 2021 had widebody C8s all over the floor. Vette Vues walked the Las Vegas Convention Center and logged these:

  • Competition Carbon: three cars, in the Extreme Dimensions booth, an air suspension company’s booth, and the Toyo Tires walkway between the Central and South Halls.
  • Streethunter Designs: the Jon Sibal design from TJ Hunt.
  • Sigala Designs: the C8RR, with one car entered in SEMA’s Battle of the Builders.
  • Label Motorsports: the Vouno, in the Gentex booth.
  • Rocket Bunny: the Pandem kit.

What a widebody kit does to wheels, tires and ride height

The kit is the cheap part of the decision. Three things follow it.

  • Wheels and tires. A Stingray leaves the factory on 245/35ZR19 front and 305/30ZR20 rear tires. Put flares over that and the wheels sit inside the new fender line. Filling it takes wider, lower-offset wheels or spacers, and tires to match. GReddy lists wheel and tire specs for the Pandem kit as TBA, so fitment is on you and your wheel shop. Start with the stock C8 wheel sizes.
  • Ride height. The Label car, the Duraflex feature car and the first Pandem car all sit on air suspension. The look depends on getting the car low, and the extended splitters on these kits sit close to the road.
  • Cutting. Over-fender kits like Pandem need the body cut. Decide that before you order, not when the car is on the lift.
⚠️ HEADS UP

Two things from my own cars. Lowering my Z06 put the front lift out of its working range, so do not count on the factory lift to save a low splitter. And I broke a rear half shaft launching my Stingray. A much wider rear tire means more grip at launch on the same half shafts.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Label Motorsports widebody C8 Corvette?

It is a widebody C8 program called Vouno from Label Motorsports in Ada, Michigan. The first car took 17 months and was revealed at SEMA 2021 in the Gentex booth with 29 forged carbon fiber pieces, air struts, CEIKA brakes and Brixton Forged wheels. Label builds complete cars for clients instead of selling a boxed kit.

How much does a C8 Corvette widebody kit cost?

Published parts prices run from $1,709 per end for Duraflex fiberglass flares to $8,000 for the Pandem kit, $19,580 to $21,780 for Liberty Walk, and $14,995 to $24,995 for the Sigala Designs C8RR. Paint, bodywork, installation, wheels and tires are extra on every one of them.

How much wider is a widebody C8 Corvette?

Chevrolet’s factory wide body is 79.7 inches across, 3.6 inches wider than the 76.1 inch Stingray. Aftermarket kits vary. Sigala’s C8RR adds six inches, Duraflex’s Grand Veloce adds up to four, and Pandem’s over-fenders are listed at 40 mm front and 70 mm rear.

Do you have to cut the body to fit a C8 widebody kit?

For the Pandem kit, yes. The U.S. listing says body cutting and inner fender sealing are required. Sigala’s C8RR is described as replacing every body panel except the doors. Ask each maker what has to be cut before you order, because a cut fender cannot be put back.

Which C8 Corvettes come with a factory wide body?

The Z06, Grand Sport and ZR1 all use Chevrolet’s 79.7 inch wide body, against 76.1 inches for the Stingray. For 2027 the Grand Sport pairs that body with the Stingray’s 535 hp LS6 engine for $15,000 more than a Stingray at the same trim level.

What are the best-known widebody C8 Corvette builds?

Three of the best documented are Label Motorsports’ forged carbon Vouno from SEMA 2021, TJ Hunt’s Torch Red Stingray with the Streethunter Designs kit, and TheStradman’s Stingray with the Pandem kit. Competition Carbon also brought three widebody C8s to that same SEMA show.

How to Fix C8 Corvette Squeaky or Squealing Brakes (VIDEO)

In this video from Rick Corvette Conti with Coughlin Chevrolet of Pataskala discusses how to fix squeaky or squealing C8 Corvette brakes with his service corvette technician Chuck Metts.

Chuck mentions Chevrolet wants them to put a copper grease on the brake pads to stop them from chattering in the calipers. It’s Permatex Copper anti seize lubricant and to put a thick layer on the brake pads.

Another option is upgrading your brakes to Girodisc brake rotors and Carbotech Brake pads as we did after ordering the parts from Paragon Performance. We have a Z51 3LT C8 Corvette the J55 brakes are bigger so you have to take the brake calipers off.

There is a bulletin with Chevrolet not a recall that they will fix this issue as long as the C8 Corvette is still under warranty.
