Check out this video we found on YouTube where a Chevrolet Dealer has a C8 Corvette marked up $50,000 for sale.
The dealer is Gateway Chevrolet in Avondale, Arizona just outside of Downtown Phoenix to the west of Phoenix, AZ
This is the highest C8 Corvette mark up we have seen so far. When they first started hitting Chevy Dealership lots they were being marked up $2k, $5k, $10k, $20k and even $30k but $50k takes the cake.
Recently YouTuber GabeRolfCars on YouTube highlighted the the top five design flaws he has noticed since having his C8 Corvette for over 25,000 miles.
One thing he mentions is this video is probably more about convincing you to purchase 2LT or 3LT since a lot of the things he loves about the C8 Corvette are not available for a 1LT Corvette.
Check out this video from WRPDrive on YouTube where he adds 2 more quarts of DCT fluid to his C8 Corvette with the 13 degree method jacking the car up.
It does look higher than the 13 degrees (1 and half feet) and they had to jack it up pretty high so the transmission fluid wouldn’t leak. This is suppose to help reduce C8 Corvette transmission issues and for track use.
This is the easier way of adding the 2 liters of DCT fluid. The side filler plug is easier accessed rather than taking out the airbox to access the top plug. Be careful not to drop the 17mm aluminum plug in the skid plating, it will be hard to find.

Recently we have been covering his transmission that needed to replaced on his Corvette C8 as well as is AC fixed.
As he mentions there are a lot of aftermarket C8 Corvette parts or items you can use to fix these issues other than the transmission and the console.
You can use beadmaker to coat the engine bay after every way to eliminate water spots or it getting so dirty. Also, you can buy aftermarket mesh grill inserts for the front bumper area to protect the radiators although GM doesn’t recommend it.
Lately C8 Corvette owners have also been adding two quarts of transmission fluid as well as changing the transmission filters more often to eliminate any future transmission problems. His C8 Corvette had over 20,000 miles before it had transmission issues.
The wheel gap and stock oem wheel problem can be fixed with aftermarket wheels with the right offset or adding spacers like the ones Paragon Performance uses if you wanted to keep the stock C8 Corvette wheels.

He tests the C8 Corvette vs the McLaren 0-60 and launch control in each car. The are rated at about 0 to 60 in the 2.8 and 2.9 range and they are both on 305 20s on the rear tires.

The Porsche 992 comes with only flat 6 with a Twin Turbo with 397 horsepower vs. the C8 Corvette at 495 horsepower with a natural aspirated V8.
They both of the same 20 inch sized wheels and tires and the Porsche 992 weighs in in the 3200-3700 range depending on the model and options while the C8 Corvette weighs about 3300 lbs.
The Porsche 992 starts at $98k while the C8 Corvette starts at 60k but can be optioned up to the high 90k low 100k area depending on the carbon fiber added to the C8 Corvette as well. There are companies like Racing Sport Concepts that offers aftermarket C8 Corvette carbon fiber parts as well as Porsche carbon fiber parts too.
A few months ago we posted an update to a C8 Corvette customer showing a Chevy Dealership service technician going over 100MPH in his car.
And now another Chevy Dealership service tech was caught on the C8 Corvette PDR (performance data recorder) going over 140MPH cutting in and out of traffic and reckless driving with a customer car as well.

Update: It looks like the video was removed or taken down because the owner was happy with what the dealer offered him which sounds like they agreed to an extended warranty. Per reddit
Check out this video from Gabe Rolf Cars and his update on his new transmission, AC repair, and cats. It cost over $26,000 to fix the AC compressor, transmission, and cats. It cost him only $16.00 since everything was under warranty of course.

In this video by YouTuber Speed Phenom, Austin Everett the C8 Corvette mark ups will continue on the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06, however how high are people on these “lists” able to spend or want to spend on the new Corvette C8 Z06 will be the question.
You will notice Speed Phenom, Austin Everett go to at least 5 Chevrolet dealers in the Los Angeles area. And not only do a few have 100s on their C8 Corvette Z06 list most have already said they will be adding a $20k – $30k mark up on the C8 Corvette Z06 that comes out in 2023 as well.
The funny part of this video is some of these same Chevy dealers in California he visited had 1LT C8 Corvettes marked up $50k plus still.
This C8 Corvette market is hot, the chip shortages, lockdowns, and UAW strike didn’t help and now it doesn’t look like its going to cool off anytime soon.
I know people already selling or trying to sell their 2020, 2021 C8 Corvettes in anticipation for the C8 Z06 that is coming however you might not be able to get one for a long time like the C8 Corvette base model Stingray so maybe its worth keeping it and trading it in or selling once you actually secure a C8 Corvette Z06 in hand because this market isn’t slowing down anytime soon and there are more mark ups to come.
The real question is how high is someone willing to spend in getting a C8 Corvette Z06? Say it starts a $90k base and marked up another $20k before options and options put you over $120k depending on the 4 possible C8 Corvette Z06 variants and we are just using a base C8 Z06 as an example will people go up to $120k for the C8 Z06? Only time will tell.
Eventually as the C8 Corvette gets closer to McLaren and Lamborghini prices and with the electric vehicle market ramping up now that the Tesla Plaid is the king of the road performance wise at the 130k range what’s going to be the number people drop off lists, can’t afford the C8 Z06 or start to question whether they should get a C8 Z06 vs some of the other cars that end up being in the same price range?
