Check out this YouTube video on how to use and activate Launch Control in the C8 Corvette.
There are many launch control modes from Sport to Track and in Track launch control modes there are Wet, Dry, Sport 1, Sport 2, and Race modes as well.
You have to put your foot to floor hard on the brake and the gas pedal and wait for it to hit 3,500 RPMs.
If you don’t get to 3,500 RPMs then you aren’t holding the brake down hard enough.
C8 Corvette Launch Control Videos
In this video above, he talks about how to enter the service mode, SD card size, and Launch Control (tips, what modes Launch Control is available in) and try my first 0-60 runs and an attempted peel out.
Note: For each run, he made sure there were no other vehicles around him. When on the two lane roads there were no other vehicles visible in front or behind me at all. With flat roads, I had great visibility. In addition, speed limits on the roads I used were 70, 65, and 55. I know none of this is visible to those watching, but I made sure I wasn’t putting anyone else at risk in my 0-60 runs. Now, for the 1/4 mile runs, I definitely want to demonstrate those, but plan to do so on a track.

⚡ QUICK ANSWER
A Pennsylvania Corvette creator with four C8s on the record.
Street Speed 717 (StreetSpeed717) is the YouTube channel of Mike Hyssong, a Pennsylvania car creator known for modified Corvettes, lifted trucks and exotics. His documented C8s are a twin-turbo 2020 Stingray, a 2021 Stingray, a 2023 Z06 and a C8 ZR1. The 717 is the area code for south-central Pennsylvania.
I have owned the same three C8 models Mike has put on camera: a Stingray, the Z06 (twice) and the ZR1 I have now. So this profile sticks to what a Corvette owner wants from it. Who he is as a creator, what the channel covers, and what was done to each C8, with the numbers that were published at the time.

Who is Street Speed 717?
Street Speed 717 is a YouTube channel run by Mike Hyssong. The channel’s own about page keeps it short: “My name is Mike. I make car videos and put them on the internet.” Car outlets such as Carscoops use his full name, and some people search for him as Michael Hyssong. Street Speed 717 and StreetSpeed717 are the same channel, written with and without spaces.
The 717 in the name is a telephone area code. It covers south-central Pennsylvania, including Harrisburg, Lancaster and York, and Pennsylvania is home base for the channel. His first C8 was delivered at Whitmoyer Chevrolet in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. Fabspeed, the exhaust company behind his Z06 and ZR1 systems, is in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. That is as specific as this page gets on location.
What the channel covers
Corvettes are the thread, but it is not a Corvette-only channel. Going by the builds that have been written up and by Fabspeed’s partner page for him, the mix looks like this:
Modified Corvettes. A C6 ZR1, a C7 ZR1 and four C8s, most of them with more power or less exhaust than stock.
Drag strip and top-speed runs. Autoevolution covered his C7 ZR1 at Pocono Raceway in October 2022, with a headline that put the car at 1,000 hp and 180 mph.
Lifted trucks and off-road builds, including Ram TRXs.
Exotic supercars alongside the domestic cars.
Vehicle giveaways and merch through 717 Supply.
717 Supply LLC is the merchandise and sweepstakes business connected to the channel. The store sells shirts, hoodies, wallets, car care products and hot sauce, and its rules say Mike contacts the winners by phone himself. As of October 2026 the site is on giveaway number 53, a choice between a C6 ZR1 Corvette and a Chevy Tahoe.
These are the four C8s I can tie to a written source. If he has owned others, they stay out of this table until I can document them.

The 2020 Stingray: black, then blue, then twin-turbo
He picked up a black 2020 Stingray in early March 2020 at Whitmoyer Chevrolet in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. Within about a week it was on a set of Brixton PF8 wheels, 20-inch front and 21-inch rear, that came off a C7 Z06, as CorvetteBlogger covered at the time. Stock is 19 and 20. The C7 lug nuts were too small for the C8, so he had to buy M14x1.50 replacements.
By July 2020 the car was blue and at Late Model Racecraft in Houston for a twin-turbo kit. CorvetteBlogger put the finished car at 667 wheel horsepower. A stock 2020 Stingray with the performance exhaust is rated at 495 hp at the crank. The turbos bolt to LMR’s own cat-back exhaust.
The limit was not the 6.2L LT2. It was the stock dual-clutch, which was slipping at that power until LMR dialed it back, with an upgraded clutch pack in development at the shop at the time.
🏁 OWNER TAKE
I broke a rear half shaft launching my own Stingray, so a 667 whp C8 finding the limit of its driveline before the limit of its engine does not surprise me. In this build the LT2 was not the first thing to complain. If you are planning boost, read up on C8 axle failures and look at how another twin-turbo C8 build was put together first.
Video: the 2020 Stingray on delivery day
This is his delivery video for the black 2020 Stingray, the car that became the twin-turbo build. He titled it as the first C8 delivery on YouTube. It shows the car before the wheels, the color change and the turbos.
The 2021 Stingray: the one that stayed stock
Carscoops reported in February 2023 on a blue 2021 Stingray he had recently picked up with low miles. The plan was bigger wheels and modified body panels, but he left the car stock and used it for off-road videos instead, including jumps and a run through a field against a Silverado ZR2. It was then listed on Facebook Marketplace at $79,995 with fewer than 2,400 miles (3,862 km).
The 2023 Z06: Fabspeed exhaust and a 640 whp dyno pull
His 2023 Z06 went to Fabspeed in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania in late 2022. Per CorvetteBlogger, the shop pulled the factory exhaust and fitted sport cats and a race X-pipe with no mufflers, which took about 40 lb (18 kg) off the car. He billed it as the first straight-piped C8 Z06.
The Drive reported that the car made 640 wheel horsepower on the dyno with the factory exhaust still on. Chevrolet rates the 5.5L LT6 at 670 hp at the crank with an 8,600 rpm redline, so that is a strong number for a stock car. Fabspeed’s partner page now lists his Z06 with the company’s titanium valvetronic cat-back and sport cats. If you want the car itself rather than the build, my C8 Z06 guide covers it.
The C8 ZR1 and the older ZR1s
ZR1s are the constant on this channel. Before the C8 there was a C7 ZR1 built to about 1,000 hp, the car Autoevolution covered at Pocono Raceway, and a C6 ZR1 that CorvetteBlogger said was next in line at Late Model Racecraft back in 2020.
The newest one on record is a C8 ZR1. Fabspeed’s partner page lists his ZR1 with the company’s stainless megaphone cat-back and sport cats. Stock, the twin-turbo LT7 makes 1,064 hp, and Chevrolet quotes a 9.6-second quarter mile at 150 mph with the ZTK package. I have not found a written, sourced time slip or dyno sheet for his car, so I am not printing one. For the car itself, see my C8 ZR1 review.
StreetSpeed717 is Mike Hyssong. His YouTube about page introduces him only as Mike, and car outlets such as Carscoops use his full name. Some searches use Michael Hyssong. Street Speed 717 and StreetSpeed717 are the same channel, written with and without spaces.
Where is Street Speed 717 located?
The channel is based in Pennsylvania. The 717 in the name is the area code for the south-central part of the state, which includes Harrisburg, Lancaster and York. His first C8, a black 2020 Stingray, was delivered at Whitmoyer Chevrolet in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania.
What Corvettes has Street Speed 717 owned?
On the written record: a C6 ZR1, a C7 ZR1 built to about 1,000 hp, and four C8s. The C8s are a twin-turbo 2020 Stingray, a 2021 Stingray he kept stock, a 2023 Z06 with a Fabspeed exhaust, and a C8 ZR1.
How much power did the Street Speed 717 twin-turbo C8 make?
CorvetteBlogger reported 667 wheel horsepower for the Late Model Racecraft twin-turbo 2020 Stingray in July 2020. A stock 2020 Stingray with the performance exhaust is rated at 495 hp at the crank. The stock dual-clutch transmission was the limiting part.
Does Street Speed 717 have a C8 ZR1?
Yes. Fabspeed’s partner page lists his C8 ZR1 with a stainless megaphone cat-back exhaust and sport catalytic converters. A stock C8 ZR1 makes 1,064 hp from the twin-turbo LT7. He also ran a C7 ZR1 at about 1,000 hp and a C6 ZR1 before it.
What is 717 Supply?
717 Supply is the merchandise and vehicle sweepstakes brand connected to the channel. The store sells shirts, hoodies, wallets, car care products and hot sauce, and its rules say Mike contacts winners by phone. In October 2026 it was running giveaway number 53.

Also, another tip for changing your oil on your C8 Corvette is either have a professional auto repair shop handle it for you or put down epoxy garage flooring since epoxy floors help with reducing garage stains. Most Garage Door Repair companies will do epoxy garage floor coatings or you can find a company that specializes in it. Just like if you needed a car wrap in Phoenix or window tinting in Scottsdale you can do a Google search and see what companies are on the first page that specialize in that specific service.
