Ciocca Corvette Takes C8 Z06 Reservations at MSRP (VIDEOS)

Today at 12:00PM Eastern (Noon) in Atlantic City New Jersey there was a line wrapped around Ciocca Corvette (formerly Kerbeck Chevrolet) to hand in $2,000 deposits to secure a spot on their C8 Z06 list.

At the same time people like us in Arizona that are on multiple lists already provided a $2k wire transfer online vs flying in and joining the insane line. Little did we know at the time the wire transfer was the best way and there were a lot more wire transfers hitting faster than people standing in line giving their deposits in person.

Some more details surfaced as their C8 Z06 reservation page went live as well where you have to provide 10% of the MSRP price of your spec when its time to order your C8 Z06 which we think is a great idea to really keep serious buyers in the line vs. people still on the fence of ordering one.

The great thing about Ciocca Corvette is they didn’t start a list until after the C8 Z06 unveil and reveal date starting today vs some lists that we know of that have well over 1000+ people and it will take years for them to get the C8 Z06

From what we see this C8 Corvette buzz as we predicted creating this website is not going away anytime soon. We love this platform and have had a C8 Corvette we built  (follow us on Instagram @automotiveSEO ) since March of 2020 after ordering one and getting on a list a day after the unveil in July 2019.

Here is the details from the Ciocca Corvette website on the reservation list process that started today:

Information about the Ciocca Corvette Z06 List is coming out

In this video you will see “Dadbodszn610” talk about him and his wife getting reservation #’s in the 1500s and being advised they can only have one C8 Corvette Z06 per household. He was about 60th waiting in line and gave their cash deposits around 12:30PM eastern standard time.

The people that wired the money via Wells Fargo or Bank of America seem to be getting the lower reservation numbers and good to note for any future releases this a better way to do it.

Doug DeMuro Review of the NEW Corvette C8 Z06

Check out this Video Review of the Corvette C8 Z06 by Doug DeMuro who runs Cars and Bids and has a big following on YouTube for Car Reviews and the “Doug Score”.

2023 Chevy Corvette C8 Z06: Here’s a Thorough Tour of this Beast!

Some of the highlights from Doug DeMuro Corvette C8 Z06 Review

  • 70 is on the back windshield for the 70th anniversary (they will probably introduce the “zora” for the 75th anniversary is our guess
  • Most powerful V8 ever made thanks to the flat plane crank engine
  • Torque is not improved from the Stingray C8 Corvette
  • All Z06 Engines are hand built with their signature which we love because then you know who built it and if something happened their name is on it which we are sure gives them more pride in their work.
  • Z06 badges everywhere to remind you it’s not the base model C8 Stingray Z51
  • Multiple Carbon Fiber Interior Packages for the New Z06 Corvette C8
  • Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel
  • The interior comes in 7 different colors, 7 different seat belts, and 7 different brake caliper colors.
  • The convertible performs as well as the coupe because of the rigidity

C8 Corvette Z06 All Wheel Drive Version?

Check out this video by Chevy Dude where he covers 10 things you might have missed during the 2023 Z06 Corvette reveal.

One of the most interesting things he mentions is the C8 Corvette Z06 on an All Wheel Drive Dyno. If this car is pushing 670 horsepower with an All Wheel Drive option like a Lamborghini 610-4 we might be able to see low 10s in the quarter mile stock.

Also, with the E Ray, Hybrid Corvette C8 ZR1, and possibly Zora (all electric) Corvette that pushes 1000 Horsepower like the Tesla Plaid going all wheel drive will be a must to compete and not spin since spinning ain’t winning!

Some other things he points out on the Corvette C8 Z06 is;

  • Copo on the cylinder heads
  • Z06 was a 25k+ increase with the C7 = $87195, he thinks $89,995 plus mark ups unless Chevy takes those additional mark ups and starts the Corvette Z06 C8 pricing at $99,995
  • Summer 2022 July/August will be the start of production of the C8 Corvette Z06 so we most likely wont see the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 hit lots until Fall of 2022 since on average it takes 60 days for maximum production rates of the C8 Corvette

UPDATE: April 2022 Chevy Announced a Full Electric and Hybrid C8 Corvette with all wheel drive

After the C8 Corvette Z06 Chevy has announced there will be an all wheel drive hybrid assist C8 Corvette and then a full electric C8 Corvette after that as well.

2023 Corvette Z06 Details WE STILL DON’T Know

They still didn’t provide production or release dates, pricing (most likely $85-$95k to start), lists and mark up information. We have heard dealers already with 1000+ people on their lists and will be marking them up again anywhere from $10-50k.

Other things they didn’t mention was top speed and weight (updated here, 3450 with the Z07 full carbon fiber/wheels). So our guess is either its the same or not impressive enough to share.

The new videos that Chevrolet keeps releasing keeps talking about putting the world on notice as a global car and to take on the exotics and supercars.

This was recently discussed here in a YouTube video about how the C8 Z06 Production will not be limited which again is speculation and nothing official from General Motors or Chevrolet.

World’s Fastest C8 Corvette Runs 8.97 @ 160.92 MPH

We have been covering FuelTech build a C8 Corvette to be the fastest C8 Corvette in the world as he battled Emelia Hartford and break her world records as well.

He finally got the C8 Corvette in the 8s in the quarter mile at Orlando Speedway. The tough part about this process is the car needed upgraded clutches and a twin turbo set up with a piggy back tuning system.

First to the 8 seconds! FuelTech’s C8 Corvette! New World Record | 8.973 @ 160mph!

Per their video description on YouTube

It is Official—the FuelTech C8 Corvette is the first to eclipse the 8-second zone when Anderson Dick piloted it to an 8.973 at 160.9 mph while racing at Orlando Speed World.

It has been a longtime coming as the team added a twin turbo system last year and integrated the award-winning FT600 engine management system to the vehicle. The inclusion of the PowerFT engine management system is a feat upon itself as it works in conjunction with the PCM, providing the proper fuel, spark, and power management to keep the turbocharged LT2 running smoothly.

The previous best elapsed time was a stout 9.01 at 153 mph, which came shortly after the FuelTech group pushed the hub dyno numbers to a jaw-dropping 1,350 WHP. The factory PCM runs most of the vehicle systems and Anderson and his crew developed a work-around to avoid the factory-programmed torque management. A second FuelTech ECU was installed for drivetrain management, allowing the vehicle to be used in dedicated drag strip or road course applications.

Understandably, Anderson wouldn’t reveal too much on the drivetrain control until as they continue to develop it into a turnkey solution for the motorsports world. He did admit that a major component to the transmission performance is the ability to tune the clutch- pressure and take full advantage of the Stage 2 Dodson clutches, which utilizes 9 and 10 frictions in comparison to the OEM clutch setup with 5 and 6. The team also added a newer, taller rear tire size; 305/45/18 Mickey Thompson ET Street R drag radials help apply the power, a step up from the 325/35/18 drag radials the team ran this past summer. The new tire size allows for a longer first gear and helped knock back the ratio on the top-end for bigger speeds. The Mickey Thompson rubber is mounted on a pair of stylish Weld Laguna wheels.

The engine combination is a simple one as it uses two Garrett G35-900 turbochargers mounted topside and they are capable of providing plenty of boost to the fortified LT2 engine. The engine components were sourced from Gwatney Performance and the line-up includes forged Diamond Pistons that are mated to extremely strong Wiseco Boostline connecting rods. Anderson also consults with Pro Line on the engine platform for optimum durability.

The engine compartment is very straightforward—the turbo kit doesn’t have an intercooler due to the use of methanol fuel to help cool the incoming air. Late Model Racecraft’s Steve Fereday was a heavy influence when Anderson embarked on building the turbo combination. The turbo package relies on Turbosmart wastegates, which are essential components due to the extreme demands for this combination’s power management. The quick response is paramount to accurate shifting and drag strip performance. The next step is to switch to Turbosmart’s new electronic wastegates for even better control and the FuelTech FTManager software includes that option already.

A couple of turbochargers are almost not enough when chasing records. Nitrous Outlet provides extra air to the engine through chemical enhancement, which also helps cool down the non-intercooled turbocharged air. Anderson has been adamant that the reason for the exceptional launches and quick 60-foot times are due to the instant hit of nitrous off the starting line.

The Corvette features a unique dual fuel system setup that uses the factory direct injection and the stock fuel tank for primary fuel delivery. A complete second fuel system has been added to the Corvette with an Aeromotive brushless pump delivering VP Racing Fuels M1 to an independent set of fuel injectors, which are mounted in a custom sheetmetal intake manifold.

The team relies on the primary FT600 as a data logger to record factory sensors at a high sampling rate in addition to an assortment of FuelTech sensors. The Corvette employs two WB-O2 Nano meters that monitor the air/fuel ratio through Bosch LSU 4.2 sensors in the exhaust. Other sensors wired into the FT600 include backpressure canister, 0-150 psi pressure sensor to monitor the port fuel injection, two backpressure sensors for each turbocharger as well as turbocharger speed sensors. Anderson also added two FuelTech EGT-4 kits, which allows individual cylinder EGT monitoring for all eight cylinders, aiding in complete data collection and engine safety.

The R&D team also disclosed a major accomplishment and improvement—they have the ability to fully control ignition timing and throttle position, this enables the power management required for the ultimate in track-focused performance.
